Maybe they are coming clean that Finley has been blackmailing Pop, and it has something to do with the naked pictures of George Hill?

Announcing the acquisition of a certain player who also happened to be in the same town would make some sense. Given that tonight's game is on TNT, it would be a bit dramatic and a bit of a throwdown to the rest of the league. Atypical Spurs.

The first poster wasn't even sure he heard it right. There's nothing about a PC on Spurs.com, KSAT, anywhere else. These things aren't generally hard to track down that there's one even happening, especially if it was 'announced' on a local news station.

I haven't seen anything about a press conference. But the Spurs don't always send out much warning. Especially if they don't want to answer a lot of questions.

The OP claimed to have heard it on the noon sports telecast. That was 2 hours ago. It seems odd that there are no details at this point.

As FWD alluded, maybe they were just holding a time so they would be prepared if a trade was happening.

I doubt there will be a press conference. Manu's injury was already said not to be season ending, and the trade deadline has come and gone without any leaks. So, after all the drama, speculation, and bullshit, nothing will happen as per usual this time of year.

Did the nuggets do something like this when Nene had those problems?

yeh it was kept quiet for a while. He didn't play for a while and they didn't say much, so everyone just assumed it was an injury at first but as time went on it sounded worse.

He came out and went public a while after he found out and had told teammates/coaches etc

That's my guess, too. Unless there is a Manu injury that is just too important to wait till they get back to San Antonio.

I was at my mom's for lunch and she had the news on, though I only caught part of it. What I heard was there would be an announcement or maybe a press conference before the game tonight and they were talking about Manu right before that, so it would seem it would be about Manu unfortunately.

My guess is that there's no official press conference. It's just a follow up to Pop saying to McDonald that they'd tell about Manu's health before the game. So, they are probably just referencing that Pop will answer during the routine pre-game press question and answer session prior to the game.
