Marc Stein: I'm also told that Sacramento will be releasing Mikki Moore after the Kings were unable to include him in any trades before the deadline. Given the leaguewide need for big men, there figures to be a fair bit of interest in Moore once he clears waivers. Expectation is high that he will wind up in Boston, reports ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.

He would be an ok pickup but, if Manu is out for an extended period of time, there is really no point in it...

Hopefully he does...then we can have Joe Smith. :)

How do waivers work? Is there a preference in reverse order of standings? If so, how would he end up in Boston?

I would be fine with Mikki Moore or Rasho.

Theres a couple things Rasho does well, thats guard opposing bigs, and block shots.

Mikki Moore really, really sucks.
I mean really.
If they are picking up a player for rebounding, defense and shot blocking, Moore couldn't be farther away from the solution.

Rasho helped our D alot but these are probably the same people who wanted him out when he was with the Spurs. He's slow and unathletic. But he's big and good at blocks. But the Spurs won't bring him back. I don't think they did shit.

On an active day for the Kings in which they narrowly missed out on a deal that would have sent forward Kenny Thomas to New York for point guard Nate Robinson and forward Jared Jeffries, they also waived forward Mikki Moore. The veteran had only $2 million guaranteed of his $6.2 million salary for next season if he was cut by June 20.

"I'm kind of glad that I'm leaving Sacramento because I thought that I was going to make a home here," Moore said by phone. "Especially after having a good season in New Jersey, I thought that they wanted me and needed me here. So I was looking forward to retiring here, but it just didn't work out that way.
"(But) these are the last years of my career, so I've got to get somewhere where I'm wanted. I'm looking forward to doing something."
