What's happened to Oberto? I remember a few years ago, he seemed productive. He'll get some rebounds and made some baskets by being at the right spot. But now, he's getting no playing time at all... Now he doesn't seem to be able to rebound or defend. Does he just suck now or does he need some mins? Why are we paying him 3.5 mil?

If you dont play you cant produce.
Maybe hes treating Oberto the same way as Bowen.
Saving him for the playoffs and taking his starting spot back.

his 1 inch vertical has decreased to no vertical which means past used-by date....
so we are actually paying a guy to give 6 fouls at 3m a season, something any of us here could do for 1% of that salary or nil
Yea I wondered about this too. Oberto's effort last season and his history has shown that he's better at the defensive end than Bonner but other than easy layups he has no offense unlike the redhead.
I think Pop wanted to give more minutes to Bonner and I think the Spurs are scared of letting a guy with a heart condition play on the court.
Can you imagine seeing Oberto get a heart attack on the court? Pop doesn't want that to happen.

i too want to see fab get more minutes. his great passing always got us some easy layups.
hard to contribute when Pop isn't giving you minutes and bonners been shooting the way he has. i hope that Oberto gets more playing time as the season dies down and we go into the playoffs.
He turned into Slowberto. :(

Pop always seems to put someone in the doghouse about this time of year. Last year it was Bonner.
Pour encouragere les autres.

Our rotation for the Playoffs:
Parker/Hill
Mason/Ginobili
Bowen/Hairston/Finley
Duncan/Bonner
Oberto/Thomas
He's always blown.
He wouldn't start on any other team in the NBA.

Fab (Oberto) will be in the rotation as we progress into the season, just as he always has been. He and Kurt (Thomas) will both be important for us.

Two things happened to Oberto:
1. Thomas > Oberto
2. Bonner's offense - Oberto's offense > Oberto's defense - Bonner's defense
If you dont play you cant produce.

Wow, saving Oberto for playoffs.... He can`t be exhausted playing 20 mpg. He sucks too much to use more of him in playoffs
