I figure it's a slump - his jumper will be back. His defense has me more concerned - that needs to get fixed by playoff time with the PG's we should expect to see in the Playoffs.

He's kind of never had one. He might shoot well in certain games (like at Minnesota earlier this year), but by and large he can't shoot a lick from outside.

And missing shots usually affects players' defense as well, whether they know it or not. He's just not playing well right now.

This is not what NBA Hot Spots says. Unless Tony can make 15ft layups with his looong arms he is probably a decent shooter.

Fuck spoiled spurs fan. TP played a good game yesterday 19 5 11 and what we have today : TP JS and TP defense.

Anyone here to point out the positives things ???

For instance giving 11 assists in a 83 pts game is a great performance.
SA made 31 Fgs and TP 7 it means TP has assisted half of the points of the team but the haters prefer bashing. Pathetic.

Out of his own FG TP has assisted 46% of the FGs of the team

Let's put it that way: this year, TP can have a 20/10 game without playing great. It shows you how good he has become over the years.
That being said, his defense is being embarassing lately

I have no problem to highlight the fact is struggling on defense and js lately but we also can highlight what it's right about his game and 11 assists in this game is a fucking good performance.

Agree with assist. But it's not great to score 19 if you take 20 shots.

12-40 FG% last 2 games.Could he shoot less? It would be a good idea.

Once again I have no problem to say is shooting bad right now but on this game his overall performance has been good considering the assists and he rebounded 5. By the way Tim shot yesterday the same FG% but I'm ok with that we have the W and Tim managed to get 18 reb.

Michael Jordan

FG FGA FG%
October 31, 1997 : 7/23 .304
November 3, 1997 : 12/39 .308
November 12, 1997 : 10/28 .357
etc...

If the GOAT could have bad shooting % at times, i think Tony Parker can have some too, occasionnaly.
82 games in regular season. You can't have 82 great games.

TP played a heck of a game yesterday and thats what the spurs needs from him with manu out.
He needs to spread the floor better than ever.

Not at all.

He struggled all night and at the end up 1 Pop drew up a play for Tony again, had a good open jumper and just missed it.

Tony and Cobra right now are just off, and it happens in a long season.

Had Tony and Tim had halfway decent offensive nights last night, the Spurs blow the hell out of the Pistons.

Eh, i don't think its fatigue, the jumper just isn't falling right now, its just a mini slump. ALA Roger Mason.

Wow... the TP hate never ceases to amaze me :rolleyes Tony's shot may not be falling but his penetration (or even the threat of his penetration) is getting other guys open looks so if the last few games are what we have to endure while our pg is going through his worst shooting slump in a while, I'll take it. As for his defense, as others have pointed out, every one looks worse without a true center back there. The last two games, he's been the scapegoat because the opposing team's pg has been the one to attack the defense (Nate and AI) rather than a SG/SF. The Toronto game was a fluke career night for... sorry, I forgot his name :rollin

nobody is "hating" on Tony..we all realize how good of a player he is, he was an all-star and he deserved it..

it's a thread simply asking if we should be concerned with his J, or if it's a slump..
