Ask David Stern!

On Friday, David Stern, the commissioner of the National Basketball Association, will drop by to take your questions online. But you can go ahead and send your questions now, and we will save them for the commish.

This is Stern's 21st year serving as the commissioner of the NBA. He took office in 1984 -- the same year that Michael Jordan turned pro. He is a marketing expert and has presided over the stunning financial success of the NBA both nationally and internationally. The league has grown from 23 teams to 30 during his watch, has opened offices worldwide and has launched the WNBA.

David is considered one of the best sports executives working today. He has transformed the NBA from an organization on the brink of bankruptcy to a profitable and entertaining machine.

Send in your questions to David now, then join him
at ESPN.com in The Show on Friday at noon ET!

This could get ugly...

"Why the hell do your refs suck so bad? Do you just seek out near blind people, or do you just use them to fix the games?"

'sup, Dave?

The bitching by NBA fans, players, and coaches, on almost every PF, is distracting from the game. With the billions the NBA rakes in, do you think going to 4 refs/pairs of eyes would help?

if the $$$ is the problem, would putting the backup ref at each game, paid to sit there in case one of the 3 goes down, onto the court be an approach? With no backup ref, if one of the 4 went down, very rarely, the game could carry on with 3.

To try to calm the ref bitching down, what about giving each coach 2 challenges during the last 4 minutes, aided by all the video cameras giving different angles? With all the clocks stoppages during crunch time (FTs, timeouts), I don't think it would slow the game that much.
