FT shooting was a huge advantage for them. We did settle for outside jumpers early in the game. We just need to learn to attack the basket like we did in the 4th quarter, especially CP3. Also, West took some bad shots late in the game. He was forcing up some tough shit late in the game.
agree ... son the scape GOAT in this (as usual) is Peja .... the rest of our guys played their hearts out against a great team. fuck Peja, seriously ... just FUCK HIM. I dont care HOW MUCH charity work he does around New Orleans... until he learns to actually show up against elite teams, he is trash. I hence a new signature coming soon sons. god bless

Phil Jackson needs to start coaching on a game-by-game basis instead of his "formula." The starters don't need to sit the first 4-5 minutes of every 4th quarter. The starters have gotten plenty of rest this year and it's time to start playing them for the stretch run in games where they're needed

sons I would love to see that overrated Phil Jackson actually coach a team without the best players in the game on it and see how "great" he is ..... Jordan, Pippen, Shaq, Kobe, etc..... I say send him to Oklahomo City and see what he does with them (which would be nothing). Phil is the luckiest coach on the planet.

It's not trolling if its true.
Are the Hornets expected to go 5-5 from behind the arc in 4th Q?
Yes, we do it alot. We always get hot in the 4th quarter, especially Posey and Peja. Instead it was Butler tonight.
Are the Lakers expected to shoot 41%?
Well, Kobe was 13-30 which is not unusual. Plus Fisher shot terribly against Paul and Odom shot poorly against West. Everyone shot well for the Lakers.
Are Rasual Butler, Hilton Armstrong, and Sean Marks expected to play good games?
Butler had a great game, but Marks didn't do anything special. Hilton was a lottery pick from UCONN so he has potential. Besides, he barely played.
Is Posey expected to get a call when his foot is on the cylinder?
Bad calls happen occasionally. Hence the 6th foul on CP3
Is Phil Jackson going to leave the subs in for over 5 minutes in the 4th Q of a playoff game?
He's unconventional. Still we scored against their starters too. Every team has a hard time containing CP3.
The answer to all of these is no :)

paul didnt get that last call cause he already has this reputation for flopping like a bitch for nothing. in the middle of games it works but in the 4th they wont bail him out

LOL son I agree..... Scott is nothing special AT ALL. trust me, I know this. you would be a fool to believe that Phil Jackson is "Great" though. let him coach a REAL team without the leagues ELITE superstars on it and then we can see how good he is.

Paul didn't get the call because the ref didn't see Kobe push him. I didn't see a push either until the replay. It has nothing to do with flopping.

It's a players' league. Avery Johnson won a championship in 2006, and Doc Rivers won a championship in 2008. thats all you need to know that confirms this is a PLAYERS league.
Gasol was the missing piece to the Lakers being elite, not Jackson's coaching.

Quoted for motherfucking truth.
Cp3 gets ALL the fucking calls with his bullshit flopping, about time a call went against him.

I think he dove for the ball and got pushed which caused a lot of momentum. He's a very small guy. He's not even 6 ft. What do you guys expect from him when he gets hit by much bigger players.

The play looked like CP3 tripped Kobe after he got the ball. That's what I first thought when I saw the replay. Without seeing the push, its an easy call against CP3. Nothing to do with flopping. I don't blame the ref for not seeing the push since I didn't see it until the replay.

A superstar player taking a high number of FT attempts in a hotley contested close game is hardly groundbreaking news...THis is the NBA for the top 25 players in the league.

So why doesn't Tim Duncan get those same free throws? He's fouled just as much as Kobe. On a lot of the non calls if that was Kobe he would be at the free throw line almost every time.

Kobe is tied for 6th in the league for FT attempts per game.....
Durant, Wade, Howard, Lebron, Bosh are ahead of him....
Reading this thread regarding Kobe's plethora of FT's makes me laugh.

Tim Duncan should be near the top. What is your point?
The amount of times I've seen Tim hacked across the arms and no call being made is ridiculous. I don't get how some of those are a no call.
Usually guys like Wade, Kobe or whoever is the IT player get the questionable calls at the end of the game. You can't look at stats for this. One example was that Chris Paul should not have gotten that foul at the end of the game tonight it should have been on Kobe.
And for what it's worth I wouldn't have as much of a problem with the foul calls if they were more consistent. The NBA should allow more contact instead of this touch foul stuff that seems to get called the last few seasons.

I regret that I didn't watch the entire game, one of the 200 in 2400 games that were worth 2.5 hours. I did hear a commentator say something like "one of the big NOH stories is the decline of Peja". I remember Peja often hitting 5 3Gs in a quarter. So scary back then. He's done, or slumping?

Speaking of centers. They don't take too many in general unless your Howard cuz he's so athletic. Speaking of older players like Duncan. Sometimes I think they let some of it go because they expect a player of Duncans caliber to still make it if he gets a slight nudge.
It's definetely true tho that the slasher wing players get the most free throws in this league, which is really no surprise since they are always on the attack AT the basket.

He seems to be too slow to play SF. He doesn't create his shot consistently against quicker defenders and doesn't have the strength to use his size. When West was out for 5 games, he averaged 23 pts per game on 54% shooting, and played really well when Julian Wright started for West. Also, with West in the lineup, our ball movement isn't quite as good so he basically becomes a spot up shooter. Honestly, I would start Posey at SF and move Peja to the backup PF spot as long as West is playing.
C Chandler, Armstrong
PF West, Peja
SF Posey, Wright
SG Butler, Brown
PG Paul, Daniels
