He's been huge lately. I'm thinking

Odom + Gasol or Odom + Bynum > Gasol + Bynum

It seems like Gasol and Bynum are true centers while Odom is a real PF. I honestly think the Lakers are alot slower when both Gasol and Bynum are on the floor together.

Did you see Bynum's last 5 games before going down? Odom is playing great, but I'd still take Pau and Drew.

Odom has been playing fantastic so far; he is enthusiastic and confident.

Odom playing great = matchup problems

How about Odom + Gasol with Bynum coming off the bench?

I think Bynum would damage the second unit. Plus, his ego wouldn't let him come off the bench.

Odom is the x-factor for the Lakers.

Smoother offense with those two.
Less congestion.

Better offense but worse defense.

It's almost like the loss of Bynum doesn't affect how good the Lakers are, but his interior defensive presence definitely increases chances at a title.

It's kinda scary that the Lakers minus their 3rd/4th best player are still the best team in the West, my Lord how wide the gap is!

Odom + Gasol/Odom + Bynum is better than Bynum + Gasol. The problem is without Odom coming off the bench, the Laker bench is pretty horrible. Pau + bench is not very good...that's gotta be the worst defensive unit the Lakers have.

When Bynum comes back, I hope Odom goes back to the bench. Yah, it hurts his numbers but the bench will become the bench mob again with Odom leading it. Right now, the Laker bench (as a unit) is pretty disappointing.

If Lamar can maintain this type of play coming off the bench... Oh my.

The problem is, Gasol seems to be a true center. Even though taller than most PFs, he doesn't have the strength to consistently back them down. But he can use his quickness/finesse against most centers. I would say that Bynum + Odom would be the ideal lineup just like last season before Bynum's injury.

Odom was thrown on the bench, at times put after Ariza, and had his fair share of trade rumours.
He's been given a big opportunity with Bynum out and hasn't disappointed. I think he's surprised us all and proven that he's still got game.
