Just came back yesterday from the Crescent City and man was it a great time. Mardi Gras is fantastic. We left on thursday at 7 and got to NOLA around 7 am. Stopped by Lake Charles at 1 am to gamble for a few hours. What a great time. Even though I didn't win I was happy. Granted I only gambled 20 bucks.

Anyway, New Orleans was a great time. Stayed right off of Bourbon Street on Canal/Royal. Great times. Also gambled in New Orleans at Harrah's and turned 24 dollars into 100 bucks. I think I like going to casinos. It's such a fun time even if you win or lose. I probably could have had more if I gambled a bit smarter but it was my first time so I'm okay with it. Plus our hotel stay ended up being a little over a hundred bucks per person so I paid for the hotel with my gambling.

I plan on going back at least to Lake Charles to hit up a few more casinos. Then next year going to Vegas for spring break I hope. Anyone else hit up Mardi Gras in NOLA this year?

Technically you are right. But they have lots of parades & stuff for a couple of weeks, kinda like Fiesta in SA.

Or I could just wait for Fiesta.

Still does. :lol To anyone who's never been, if you want to be able to actually see the French quarter and do touristy things, you should avoid Mardis Gras. You still get a taste of it every night (there's plenty of nudity--oh, yeah, don't take your kids!). But the French quarter during the day is really a gorgeous place to take a long walking tour, not to mention there's amazing food around every corner. We took a night-time "haunted" tour several years ago. That was a nice trip.
