For his contribution and actual worth he would maybe deserve it.

But probably he cant get it. Not flashy enough and his stats are not fat enough.

Jason Kidd...errr I mean Devin Harris has improved dramatically this season. Bonner's been great but his 9 PPG and 5 RPG will not impress the pundits.

the pundits will try their hardest not to get a spur an award

Roger Mason, MIP

Mason might be a dark horse candidate, but I think this award goes to Devin Harris.

Danny Granger must've died?

Granger is no doubt a great player, but he was last year too.

Granger:
07-08 IND 80 80 36.0 0.446 0.404 0.852 1.2 4.9 6.1 2.1 1.2 1.0 2.14 3.60 19.6
08-09 IND 52 52 36.2 0.434 0.398 0.888 0.7 4.3 5.0 3.1 0.9 1.5 2.48 3.20 25.0

His rebounding actually fell off a bit since he decided to shoot the team to victory.

Harris:
07-08 NJN 25 22 33.5 0.438 0.320 0.829 0.4 2.8 3.3 6.5 1.4 0.3 2.72 2.50 15.4
08-09 NJN 51 51 36.1 0.437 0.323 0.817 0.5 2.7 3.2 6.6 1.6 0.2 2.88 2.30 21.9

A first-time all star this year; he's likely to get a lot of attention for MIP.

Mason:
07-08 WAS 80 9 21.4 0.443 0.398 0.873 0.2 1.4 1.6 1.7 0.5 0.2 0.86 1.80 9.1
08-09 SAS 55 47 30.7 0.428 0.435 0.880 0.3 3.0 3.3 1.9 0.5 0.1 1.29 2.00 12.1

Not enough improvement IMO; good but not compared to other league candidates. Still a role player and others have had more impact.

Bonner:
07-08 SAS 68 3 12.5 0.416 0.336 0.864 0.8 2.0 2.8 0.5 0.2 0.2 0.57 1.60 4.8
08-09 SAS 54 41 23.7 0.517 0.489 0.714 1.4 3.5 4.9 1.2 0.6 0.3 0.59 2.30 8.6

Substantial increase in minutes, and a proportional gain in production. Not sure that calls for MIP.

Jameer Nelson:
07-08 ORL 69 62 28.4 0.469 0.416 0.828 0.4 3.1 3.5 5.6 0.9 0.1 2.04 2.40 10.9
08-09 ORL 42 42 31.2 0.503 0.453 0.887 0.5 3.0 3.5 5.4 1.2 0.1 1.98 2.90 16.7

Great candidate, also a first-time all star, injured now so that may hurt his chances.

lil' Nate Robinson:
07-08 NYK 72 17 26.2 0.423 0.332 0.786 0.7 2.4 3.1 2.9 0.8 0.0 1.43 2.60 12.7
08-09 NYK 49 7 29.9 0.450 0.330 0.817 1.3 2.9 4.2 3.9 1.5 0.1 1.67 2.70 17.1

About same minutes, and production is up in almost every category. It's obvious the Knicks see a lot in him, and I think he's on everyone's radar now.

^^^ nice calls on Salmons and Milsap. But I'll stick with Harris because of the attention he got from being an all-star.

Salmons looks like the one who might get it.

Salmons looks like the one who might get it.

Not after the trade. He won't get the shot attempts/minutes to maintain those averages.

I'd say Millsap by the looks of those numbers, Granger and Harris were already damn good
