No doubt it would help.

Parker hit 6-11, which for this year isn't terrible for him. The ones that pissed me off were Devin at 2-6 and Barry at 2-4. Both of those guys are in the nieghborhood of 80% shooters. I want Barry to fit in on the Spurs, but he's just GOT to find a different way.

As for jumping on FTs, it's not unprecedented. Nick Van Exel does it. He stands back like 12-18" from the line and shoots a jumper.

I almost did it in HS but it was too embarrassing. One game I was 1-12.

Nothing is embarrasing if it works, Barry's dad killed the league with his underhand throws etc.

What a pathetic FT shooting night for the Spurs. So many of the FTs were short. When shots are short...it's the legs. Did the Spurs run too much at shoot-around this morning or what? Granted, the Spurs played excellent defense and really worked hard on their rotations and effort tonight, but it makes me wonder how much they'll have left for PHX.

No he doesn't. He stands a foot or two away from the line, but he doesn't jump.

one of them nights were it was all contagious and mental IMO.

Even Beno missed one and hes a good FT shooter.

Probably in the bet of the 100 dollars between Tim Duncan and Tony included that if somebody has better percentage of FT than they, must pay 100 dollars to each one

Has any other player done that in the last twenty or so years? You'd think that by now someone else would give it a try, especially with the sore state of foul shooting these days.

Pop ought to hire a player from the WNBA to coach them as a way to embarass them. They shoot worse than the women.

The Spurs shot 29-32 (.906) from the line against Utah.

So they were just trying to balance that out with their performance last night. :)

Im gonna say it was "One of those night"

when Devin Brown
and Beno Udrih arent shooting them well, you know its just mental.

Brent Barry its expected, he bricks free throws, jump shots, layups, left and right.

yeah right TPark...Barry bricks FTs...that is why he is a career 82% FT shooter.

:rolleyes

I can't believe someone would be bad at FT's. FT's are suppose to be gimmes. I was a damn 90+% FT shooter in highschool and I would shoot some of them with my eyes closed during games and still make them. If I make them why can't Tony Parker hit most of them. I just don't think they practice enough of them.

I thought when it was mentioned the Spurs should "jump" on free throws it was meant they should just have a jump ball instead of shooting them. :lol

IMO they spend too much time on it and think about it too much.

They supposedly spend HOURS EVERY DAY practicing free throws.

have to kinda agree w/ you tpark
as far as i know, for tp, as well as for a lot of european players FT is a must...
when you practice in France and don't score your FTs you run.
no excuses for missing given points
coaches in france are very demanding over FT %
TP integrated INSEP wich is the national institute for sports, and the main focuses are fundementals. FT are part of those...
honestly i dont get it for TP... he should be at 80% no matter what...

Did I miss something. Is this about the NY game. Brown went 6-8 from the line. Not great, but not far off his average. And why is Barry expected to miss FT's. I am going to assume this is sarcasm from TPark, because Barry is a decent FT shooter.

INSEP certainly didn't fix Tony's horrible shooting mechanics, which is a key fundamental that is amenable to training.

are u french or originally from france?
it's a thing i really don't get you know...
i didn't play at such a high lvl as INSEP or PBR but coaches in FR are like mad when you have such lacks...
at 12 they made me change my shot, coz the way i was shooting the ball was efficient but not like it should be...
so i really dont get how such a player can struggle that much from the line...

Since our guys are generally shooting worse than the ladies of the WNBA, I think Pop should bring one of the women in to coach the Spurs. Maybe shame will work where patience and practice haven't. :rolleyes
