View Full Version : Predictions for Suns Lakers Tonight

Nash doesn't suit up, but the Suns keep it close through 3 quarters because LA isn't playing defense. Odom scores 6-8 quick points in the 4th and the Suns can't stop the bleeding from that point on. The bright spot from the game will be Dragic gets his first career double double.

LA - 120
Phoenix - 107

LOL, maybe that's homerism to pick White Magic Dragic to have a double double, but the one clear cut weakness for LA is the amount of assists they give up. Last time they played LA, Dragic had 5 assists in less than 20 minutes of play. Feel free to check if you don't believe me.

Na game time decision but I doubt they're gonna risk further injury in a game they would most likely lose with Nash anyway. Of course he wouldn't say this but Gentry knows the limitations of the team and that risking injury for a game in LA is stupid.

I don't think theres any way for Dragic not to get a triple double.I could see him finishing with 35 points, 20 assists and 15 blocks(all on Kobe)

Idk how the 45 win Cavs got so much national media coverage last year so this isn't to big a surprise. I will say though the amount of nationally televised games the 9 seed in the west has had this year is a little ridic.

Ya I know, it's just my view that a mediocre team (I'm referring to last year not this year) shouldn't get a bunch of coverage just cause of one exciting player. Unfortunately for me the average NBA fan feels differently.

In this case it would be a quadruple double, cause there's no way Dragic could have 35 points and 20 assists without 10 turnovers.

They just announced Nash is a DNP. I wouldn't worry if I were a Laker fan.

i know thats how i should feel but lakers have a history of relaxing when its a crappy opponent or in this case, when a star guy isnt in the lineup. hope im wrong but i see a close game

Ya that makes some sense they do tend to coast through the first 40 minutes of the game against lesser teams but those last 8 minutes I predict the Suns will just fall apart.

I'm not sure why everyone is saying they have a bad feeling. We only fall asleep against the Bobcats and the Kings of the league. They'll play half ass through most of the game but end up winning it 115-105.

The Suns will win this one, and there won't be any need for anyone to come trash talk on here...they'll just be doing what they're supposed to do. The Lakers will get a couple of shots here and there, but lose. They give up too many points per game and Phoenix is a top team in scoring.

To add insult to injury, I bet phil uses hack a shaq, granted shaq is shooting well by his standards. Without nash, suns have virtually a 0 chance of winning, take away the leading scorer, trade your 2 best defenders, and it gets ugly. I'm just waiting for the next season to start.

No they dont. If they did then the 07 Finals would not have been atrocity that they turned out to be. It just so happens that Lebron gets shoved down our throat.

For the record I dont blame SA for that shambolic series, that was all on the Lebrons. San Antonio is actually pretty exiting team to watch when paired with another exiting team. The Lakers, Mavs (2003, 2006), Suns. Stick them to a shit team like the Cavs and Nets and you have yourself a ratings disaster.

The good news is that they have Shaq, which is sure to motivate Kobe.

I don't know if this is sarcasm or not but....

...PJ invented Hack-A-Shaq when he was with Chicago and Shaq Fu was with Orlando.

cobbler
02-27-2009, 10:17 AM
Actually, Hack a Shaq was originated by Don Nelson against the Bulls and Dennis Rodman. He then used the strategy against Shaq as well. I don't remember PJ ever using it in Chicago but I could certainly be wrong. I do know that he has stated several times that it's terrible for the game of basketball. But then again, that was when Shaq was bricking for the Lakers and Pop and Nelson were using the strategy.

Not sure about dragic. I hope they didn't mess him up mentally early on. He looked horrible getting picked off twice immediately when I saw him go in. Also I think defenders really go at him since they know he's young and very inexperienced. He doesn't have the college background that makes the transition as easy an most do.

It's not THAT crazy. When you pick up a player like Gasol for spares, you can easily go from 7th-8th to 1st in the conference.

Although, before Bynum went down last year, the Lakers were looking like a top 3 team in the conference anyway.

Well, good win LA. I didn't the Suns would win but I also didn't think they would take it up the ass like the doormat of a team they've become against any team with a better record.

I know firing Porter and hiring Gentry will have a positive effect on the Suns for the next 30+ games, but this coaching change makes it so it's going to take even longer to get rid of this bullshit "having fun is more important than winning" mentality D'antoni entrenched with this team for 4+ years. I hope they bring in Jeff Van Gundy in the offseason so I know this lazy underachieving group of fucks won't be having any fun.

Please, don't kid, I welcome the draft lottery. The last thing I need is to hear a bunch of idiots praising the Suns for sneaking in as the 8 seed and coming up with some new bullshit excuse, "If Gentry was coach the entire season they would have won a title."
