How long before he will metastasize in Boston?

Perhaps next year's NBA commercial:
Marbury: "What do you say know"

Time for the Spurs to prevent that!

Marbury-so unprofessional. Maybe he'll get his act together playing for Doc and the Celtics, but I doubt it.

Boston may have done every team in the league the biggest favor. Now when they implode in the playoffs, they have an excuse to use.

Whats Garnett Pierce and Allen gonna think when he jacks up those guarded 23 footers that hit just the side of the backboard? :lol

I've never liked Marbury, but once he got that "Starbury" tattoo, I wouldn't even consider liking the team that he's on. I'm glad the Knicks were able to dump him this season. Hopefully he ruins the Celts sooner than expected. I'd like a Spurs v. Cavs rematch, or maybe an actual match against them. They were pitiful back in '07. I still don't understand how they got there.

I will say one good thing about the guy. That Starbury clothing line he started that is good quality and decent looking, but VERY inexpensive for people who don't have a lot of money was really cool of him.

I like Marbury. Things went wrong with him as soon as he went to the Knicks.

After all the headlines he's been part of (buyout, controversy etc.) he actually has a shot at - and might get - a championship.

Second chance? It's not like he fell on hard times. $20 million a year. Come on.

I say he is surrounded by a group of leaders, that will help him out.

That's the popular media bullshit, but it ignores the fact that Marbury is mentally unstable (ie. has a mental illness for which he refuses to get help).

This will end badly for the Celtics.

I've just watched Marbury's fist minutes and it was far from great. His offense was so-so and his defense was pathetic.
He will surely get better given that he hasn't played for more than one year nor practice with Celtics but it wasn't a good start.

Fuck Marbury, that low class whining immature faux-all star, and fuck the celtics if they are going out of their way like this. Can you imagine how much more we'd hate the Celtics if San Antonio were in the eastern conference?

Is this a documented psychiatric disorder? If so, what diagnosis?

I'm not sure if it's documented and I can't be bothered to search, but I have been around people with mental illness, and seen enough of Starbury's antics, to know that there's definitely a screw loose in there. At a guess, I'd say he suffers from some form of bipolar given his erratic behaviour, and he certainly exhibits all the symptoms of someone suffering from severe delusions.

Please note that I am NOT stigmatising mental illness, I'm just pointing out that the Celtics are adding a very unstable man to their team, and I'm not sure their legendary "leadership group" will necessarily have the tools to make it work with someone like him. I think Marbury really needs professional help.
