Stupid people guessing who will be bought out under the comments.
Marion? I would let him expire first.
Boozer? The Jazz are trying to contend. Buy out who?
Rasheed? I don't know about Dumars anymore.
I doubt anyone gets bought out.

Joe wont come here. (I Don't see why he wouldn't) He would rather play for A league favorite than A proven winner. (And most of these guys at the end of there careers are ringless and wonder why?) We our his last option. Please believe it. :bang

I honestly hope not, I am hoping against hope it's Sheed or someone else. If it's Gooden I'm not sure I'd replace Pops for until after I see more of Pops, Pops is familiar with what the Spurs do and that could be valuable.

It is Gooden & the Sac Bee says Cleveland & San Antonio are interested...there might
be a chance we get Gooden or Joe Smith, because only one can go to Cleveland.

I'm Danny317, and I think it's Boozer and nobody can convince me otherwise

and we could get both since we have double the money and 2 open roster spots. But if it's Gooden, have fun with him. He doesn't know what defense is and gets worked on the low post trying to defend it

I don't know why a NBA GM would go out and say that people would be surprised to hear the name of a guy getting bought out and have it be Drew Gooden. I say this for 3 reasons: 1)Drew Gooden isn't really that great of a player that anyone would be surprised, 2)Thats what shitty teams do, they buy players out- nothing surprising about the Kings buying out Drew Gooden, 3)it has been speculated since the time he was traded, again, not surprising. Our beat writer is very good, and usually gives a name; he has discussed Gooden the past couple weeks, but he obviously didn't know who this GM was referring to because he didn't even speculate.

could be Rasheed...but probably not. I wouldn't mind Joe Smith, though he's probably picking the Cavs.

But in a perverse way perhaps it is because you know it will never happen. :rolleyes

Why are people assuming it's a power-forward?

Probably. He didn't travel with the Kings due to his injury issues, and word was he had asked for a buyout previously.

Unless a player's ceiling this summer is likely the MLE, why give up Bird Rights with your current team today?

Projections have the cap going down to about $58 million. I doubt many teams will be using the MLE and quite a few will be looking to dump players and salary. Gooden's Bird rights are almost certainly worthless to him.

Just like all the contracts that were dumped at the trade deadline.
He'll get more than the MLE as a 27 year old rebounding big with size in free agency.

Maybe the Pistons feel guilty and are buying out McDyess so he has a chance to win his ring with a contender.. Or maybe Rasheed's latest antics so embarassed the Pistons they've just had enough.

I hope the Pistons buy Wallace out, but I think it's very unlikely after they've won the last couple (including 1 in Boston) with Iverson out. Whether or not it should, it probably will give them hope for the postseason.
If they had continued losing, we might have had a shot at them cutting someone. I doubt it happens now.
