Nice speech. But will anyone take it seriously? Probably not and that's a shame since he brought up some interesting points. Especially the ones about empire building, the responses to our foreign policy decisions and the effects war have on a nation and its prople. If only a few of them were to be debated in earnest then that would be a good thing. We can always hope.

RP says Obama may never pull the rump of US forces from Iraq, and this figure -- 50,000 US advisors -- was reported to be shocking to Dem leaders on the hill. Next up, Afghanistan.
wtf!??!?! someone that ACTUALLY understands the problem.
Ron Paul is the savior this country never had, i never expected any senator or candidate to understand the problem, they are just so thick headed and arrogant that all they can say is "They hate our freedom"
Once again, i have great respect for Dr Paul...he could have done wonders for this country

I think most of the people in DC actually understand the problem a lot more than they let on. They just don't have the cojones to call it like is. Paul does, but most people don't like to hear the truth when it doesn't accord with the more palatable version of reality they've been fed (by politicians, the press etc.), which is why he never had any real shot at the WH.

Pfff........google Ron Paul and earmarks....
After reporters started asking questions, the Congressman disclosed his requests this year for about $400 million worth of federal funding for no fewer than 65 earmarks. They include such urgent national wartime priorities as an $8 million request for the marketing of wild American shrimp and $2.3 million to fund shrimp-fishing research.

ask the liberal rag the WSJ (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB118636043871288806.html?mod=opinion_main_review_ and_outlooks)
Heard Paul got a record amount of earmarks in the stimulus bill....I wonder if he'll send it back?

I weighed in in the other thread. So RP brought home the bacon. Heard he led the Houston contingent. Attaboy.
I was interested by all the Senators on this list (http://www.taxpayer.net/resources.php?category=&type=Project&proj_id=2049&action=Headlines%20By%20TCS) with $0 of earmarks.
Guess US Rep. RP can't afford to do that. It's a definite knock against his rep, but I can understand why he's doing it. Hard times are coming, and he knows it.
