It's a great late season pickup. The Toros are pretty loaded at the swing spots now with Johnson, Marcus Williams, Ezra Williams and Jamaal Thomas. Even Ryan Bright has been contributing. Hopefully Stanley Burrell can fill in at the point for a few minutes -- losing a quality backup like Nate Brown is a big blow.

Johnson will also help at PF or even C against some of the smaller teams that can give the Toros headaches.

Don't forget the neck protection and, most importantly, the brown hat.

Now, had it been a GREEN hat, that would have been different.

Wonder if this could signal that the Spurs are contemplating keeping Hairston in the big leagues for the remainder of the season . . .

Good thought. And I wouldn't mind that at all. He's been playing well lately.

But why does Johnson have to come back to Austin? Tell him to go somewhere else.

I hope this is a sign Hairston isn't going anywhere soon, and the Toros got Dermarr as his replacement.

As for Hairston, I can see his finishing out the season in Austin once Manu gets back. Hopefully all those playoff eligibility issues have been worked out.

Hairston already seems to be contributing at a higher level than our past DL call ups.
