October/November: 93 PPG allowed, 45.5% FG allowed..16 games..
December: 94.7 PPG allowed, 45.5% FG allowed..15 games..
January: 94.5 PPG allowed, 46.2% FG allowed..15 games
February: 91.5 PPG allowed, 43.1% FG allowed..11 games..

best stretch of the season: 84.7 PPG allowed, 42.7% FG allowed..November 11th to November 26th(9 games)..

our last 5 games: 93.6 PPG allowed, 43.2% FG allowed..

we currently rank 4th in the NBA in defensive rating, which is points allowed per 100 possessions..while we're obviously a great defensive team, we aren't elite..the top 3 are Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando, and all 3 are well ahead of us in this category..

it looks like we've made a huge improvement post-ASG though, as expected..we'll see how it continues in this thread..

Watching the games, these guys don't play like a top anything in defense. The lane and the three-point line are wide open. It's too late in the season to be playing that way.

They'll be fine. Timmys still dinged up and just getting back into game-time form and Manu will be back soon which will help, and more Bruce out there also.

78 points allowed and 42.9% FG allowed..good defensive night vs. a bad team..

The thing is most of these performances lately are against CRAP teams.

We need to get back to real Spurs defense against the good teams. The numbers still do mean a little to me because earlier in the season even the crap teams were lighting us up so it is encouraging, but real Spurs lockdown defense is doing the same thing to the good teams in the league.
