I know other duos on the list have many more credentials, and in a sense far greater marketability than our two Spurs; nevertheless, I feel we need to put them on the map (those votes are popularity contests anyways... and SA's small market usually doesn't help our players gain the support they deserve)....

I'd rank them about seventh on that list, but it's cool that they're getting the recognition.

Tim and Dave rock but I would have to give the nod to Russell and Cousy. Of the 20 players on that list, those two have more rings than the other 18 combined.

I understand that Cousy and Russell have more rings than MJ and Pipen, but don't you think that it was a bit easier in the sixties because they haven't the same competition.

Damn, what is going on with math on this board today?

Russell and Cousy have 11+6 = 17 rings.

Kareem+Magic = 6+5 = 11.

Bird+McHale = 3 + 3 = 6 (semitotal=17)

etc., etc.

Maybe you meant Russell and Cousy have more combined rings than any other pair. But I would argue that was because they had more additional support than any other pair (Havlicek, Jones boys, Heinsohn, etc.)

Of the pairs listed, I'd have to go with Magic/Kareem.

Fewer stiffs in the league with fewer teams. Your 5-10 players could probably start elsewhere.

The point I was making, was that I would probably vote for Jordan/Pippen... But instead opted to vote for Duncan and Robinson. That way when they tally up the votes our pair doesn't come in dead last place....

If we Spur fans don't vote for Duncan/DRob then who else will?

My bad...I worded it wrong.

Damn, if I was playing during the 50's I'd be in the league.
