I am not trying to be a moderator in any way, but the idea struck a couple members to start a book thread.

well.....my kid is reading "where the red fern grows".

so far, it's pretty good.

Good idea. I had forgotten about that thread. If one of the mods wants to merge this thread with that one, I would not be opposed.

There's a pretty fascinating Nova episode about the Shadow Divers.

The last good story I read was "The Kitchen God's Wife" by Amy Tan. Before that I read the "Twilight" series, which was enjoyable - except for the last book. There's no way to briefly describe what went wrong with that one.
