Damn, that Canadian offense is really really good. Too bad pitchers like Erik Bedard, Ryan Dempster, Jeff Francis, and Rich Harden weren't healthy enough to pitch for them. They could have contended for the whole thing.

He passed it I think. They said if he passes 70 he isnt allowed to pitch the next game.

i disagree. i think the padres wanted kersh AND kemp. Kersh and another propect would have been dumb for the dodgers to pass up on peavy but for both those guys i dont think it was worth it. dodgers have the most stacked lineup in the NL west.

theres 4 former all stars, 3 young studs, and a steady vet in blake.
they just need some help in the back end of the rotation
kuroda, billingsley, kershaw, wolf, (weaver, milton, estes, mcdonald, etc).
resign beimel and u got a core bullpen of beimel, wade, broxton, kuo, and mota

in the stadium they play they dont need bats they need pitching, anyone could hit a homerun in Great American Ball Park, all they need is Votto, Bruce, Phillips and Encarncion in the middle of the line up

I'm a Reds fan, so I've probably said this every year for the past decade. BUT, I really like the makeup of the team going into the season.
Their top 5 pitchers should be a big time strength. Especially if Harang returns to his '06 - '07 form.
Their hitting is a work in progress. But with Joey Votto and Jay Bruce both taking a step forward, I think the offense will be better than most predict.
Going into next year, we should have Yonder ALonso, Todd Frazier, and Chris Valaika all ready to move into a bigger role with the Big Club. Drew Stubbs could also be ready to play some Gold Glove CF.
ALl that being said, i'd be surprised if we win 80 games.

Sucks that we in the central play with NL Yankees in the Cubs. That pitching rotation they have is going to suck. I like the rotation you guys have this year, but who do you guys have for offense? Sucks being a stros fan right now with our cheap ass owner. We have good bats but damn Roy is our only pitcher. Wandy will do good and hopefully Moehler can pick up where he left off. We have only won one game in Spring Training and I know that doesnt mean anything but its making me less hopefull for the season. NL central is prob going to look like this Cubs, Cards, Brewers, Reds, Astros, Pirates. The Brewers lost CC and I think that will hurt them so I think they might actually swap with the Reds in the standings.

if you think your owner is cheap take a look at ours, the reds have a good rotation with Harang, Volquez, Arroyo, Cueto and Owings/Bailey, our offense is to much bette than the years past, getting rid of Dunn and Griffey was the best thing the reds did, Dunn was a swing and miss guy sure he got 40 homers but he stroke out everysingle time and he and Griffey always left runner on scoring position, If Harang returns to his form im sure the reds will win 80 plus games
