ALL FOUR NETWORKS WANT COWBOYS’ HOME OPENER (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/10/all-four-networks-want-cowboys-home-opener/)

NFL Network kept for itself the final game (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/10/all-four-networks-want-cowboys-home-opener/#) ever played at Texas Stadium. Now, the league’s four primary broadcast partners want the first game at the new one.
According to Barry Horn of the Dallas Morning News (via SportsBusiness Daily), CBS, ESPN, FOX, and NBC have each included the regular-season opener on their list of preferred games (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/10/all-four-networks-want-cowboys-home-opener/#) for the 2009 season.
Last year, NBC scored the first regular-season game at Lucas Oil Field, the Colts’ new Indy digs.
The Dallas 2009 home schedule features games against (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/nfl/12/29/09-opponents.ap/1.html) the Giants, Eagles, Redskins, Falcons, Panthers, Seahawks, Raiders, and Chargers.
Under the current NFL broadcasting contracts, FOX broadcasts Sunday afternoon NFC home games when the road team is also an NFC team. CBS (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/10/all-four-networks-want-cowboys-home-opener/#) gets Sunday afternoon NFC home games when an AFC team is the visitor.
NBC airs Sunday night games (but for the Week One Thursday nighter), and ESPN televises Monday night games.
This year, the Cowboys will host an AFC team (Raiders or Chargers) on Thanksgiving as part of the FOX-CBS rotation of Lions and Cowboys home games on the fourth Thursday in November. So it seems that the chances of the other CBS/AFC game in Dallas being the first home game of the year would be fairly low.
Our guess is that the league will be inclined to put the Cowboys home opener in prime time, either in Week One or Week Two. We’re leaning toward Week Two, since the glitz and the glitter of the opening of a new stadium for South America’s Team isn’t needed to spruce up an already highly-anticipated Week One.
And regardless of whether the game lands on Sunday night or Monday night, it would be fitting if the other prime-time game that week involves the Bills.

Isn't it funny that last year, nobody wanted the Cowboys. But we get rid of T.O., and now everyone wants us..hmm..

Don't they usually crank up their paltry half season of games in week 7 or 8?

This is because all 4 networks know there's no better must-see TV than the Cowgirls getting blown out by 25 in their brand new stadium, complete with shots of Jerra looking like someone pissed in his caviar

Horry For 3!

Cowboys are playin the role of the underdogs this season. Hopefully they will do well since they aren't even picked in top 5 to win the Superbowl. I don't even know if they are picked top 10.

Just say no to ESPN and CBS. I think it personally goes to NBC myself. Madden loves the Cowboys. If not NBC, give it to Fox.

Yea it had to do with TO on why the Cowboys werenot on TV :bang This has to be one of the dumbest things anyone has said on here.

Hello its called opening the new stadium and well the Cowgirls do draw well like the Steelers.

That said it will be funny to listen to Cowboy fans try to come up with someone else to blame instead of TO for everything that goes wrong with the Cowgirls.

The Cowgirls will finish no better than 3rd in the NFC East. You can take that to the bank.
