New Orleans 45
Washington 46
Halftime

Antawn Jamison ends the half with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Darius Songaila has 8 points and 2 rebounds, while Chris Paul has 10 points and 4 assists. Tyson Chandler has 6 points and 6 rebounds. The Wizards are looking to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the year as the lowest seed in the East. If they can beat the Hornets, it will show that New Orleans is truly on a downslide.

Utah 42
Atlanta 55

As I mentioned last night, in Utah, this game is a blowout..in Atlanta, it's a good game. Joe Johnson has 21 points and 3 assists and Josh Smith has 10 points and 7 rebounds, while Deron Williams leads the Jazz with 12 points and three assists. Carlos Boozer has 7 points and 5 rebounds. Atlanta is looking to end the Jazz' 12 game winning streak, and is on the right path to do it. With a hyped up Philips Arena, it's going to be one hell of a task for Utah to turn this into a W.

Still to come tonight, the Lakers head into Houston to face the Rocking Rockets, Kevin Durant and The Oklahoma City Thunder look to climb a mountain in the thin air of Denver against the Nuggets, and the Mavs, off a huge win against Phoenix look to take down the ecstatic Portland Trailblazers, fresh off a 111-94 beatdown of the top seeded Lakers on Monday.

New Orleans 85
Washington 68
End of 3rd

The third quarter was a different story for the Hornets, Wizards Showdown. New Orleans scored 40 points in the quarter, as Washington scored 22 to take a 17 point lead on the road into the 4th quarter. Chris Paul has 24 points and 10 assists while James Posey came off the bench to score 13 points and pick up 4 rebounds. Antawn Jamison didn't score a point in the 3rd, continuing with his 15 points and 7 rebounds. Caron Butler has 11 points and 6 assists. It's going to take a perfect 4th quarter and a lot of praying for the Wizards to pull this one out.

Jazz 75
Hawks 73
End of 3rd

A huge change in this game as well as the Jazz outscore the Hawks 33-18 in the 3rd quarter to take a 2 point lead into the final quarter. Deron Williams has 18 points and 7 assists to lead the Jazz while Carlos Boozer has 13 points and 8 rebounds. Joe Johnson still leads the Hawks, and the game in scoring with 27 points and 5 assists while Josh Smith has 16 points and 9 rebounds. It looks like we're going to have a good 4th quarter in Philips Arena...stay tuned.

Lakers 24
Rockets 24
End of 1st Quarter

The third, and possibly biggest game of the night in the Western Conference pits two of the top seeds going at it in H-Town. After the first quarter, Pau Gasol has 8 points and 2 steals while Derek Fisher has 6 points and 2 assists. Kobe Bryant has 4 points and 4 assists. Both Yao Ming and Luis Scola have 8 points and 2 rebounds has the game is tied at 24. This should be yet another great Western Conference matchup. I know I'll be keeping an eye on it.

New Orleans 109
Washington 98
Final

New Orleans was just too strong for the Wizards tonight, as they pull of an 11 point win in Washington. At first, it looked as if the Wiz were going to possibly be able to pull of a huge upset, but after a blowout 3rd quarter, The Hornets pulled away and finished off the game with a 109-98 victory. Chris Paul finished the game with a triple double...30 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds. Rasual Butler finished with a great game..21 points and 3 rebounds. As expected, the big performers for the Wiz were Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. Jamison finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds while Butler finished with 23 points and 9 assists

Utah 93
Atlanta 100
Final

Atlanta made a LOT of Spurs fans happy tonight, as well as the rest of the Western Conference, as they pulled off a big win at home, and broke Utah's 12 game winning streak. Utah now drops down another half game from the Spurs. Joe Johnson finished the game with 31 points and 9 assists while Josh Smith finished with a double double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Deron Williams finished the game with 20 points and 9 assists while Mehmet Okur finished with a double double of his own with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Lakers 40
Rockets 51
End of First Half

At the half, the Rockets have definitely outplayed the one man short Lakers with a blast in the 2nd quarter to pull ahead. Yao Ming finished the half with 12 points and 3 rebounds while Luis Scola scored 10 points and brought down 5 rebounds. Pao Gasol leads the Lakers at the half with 10 points and 2 rebounds, while 4 Lakers, including Kobe Bryant have 6 points, with Kobe also having 5 assists. Obviously, Kobe is trying to share the ball in this game. He's going to have to finish the game with more than 12 points however, for the Lakers to win this game. Share the ball, yes...pass up good shots? No. Stay tuned for a great second half in the Toyota Center

Spursfan092120
03-11-2009, 08:41 PM
Oklahoma City 19
Denver 31
End of 1st Quarter

This game is not turning out as exciting as it could be. Denver had a HUGE offensive quarter, sharing the ball very well. Renaldo Balkman finished the quarter with 8 points and 2 assists while Chauncey Billups finished with 6 points and 3 assists. Russell Westbrook led the Thunder with 5 points and 1 assist, with Nenad Krstic finishing with 4 points and 3 rebounds. For a win here, the Thunder are going to have to find someone who can bring the team together. Good luck to em.

End of 1st Half

The Oklahoma City Thunder had a nuch better 2nd quarter and the half finished with a lead for the Nuggets. Renaldo Balkman and Nene both finished the first half with 10 points, while Balkman also added 8 rebounds for the Nuggets. Jeff Green added 10 points and 5 rebounds while Russell Westbrook added 9 points and 1 assist for the Thunder. The second half should be very interesting.

After 3 quarters, the Rockets have stayed ahead with a score of 67 to 70. Kobe stepped up in the 3rd and going into the final quarter he has 19 points and 6 assists while Pao Gasol has 16 points and 3 assists. Luis Scola and Yao Ming have continued to be the top scorers for Houston with 15 and 16 points respectively. Scola has also added 6 rebounds while Yao has 4 rebounds. The Lakers are hoping they can pull out a win tonight before another tough contest against the Spurs tomorrow night, while Houston is hoping to get a W to prevent themselves from dropping farther down in the division

Highly unlikely we get #1. Rockets are only 2 games behind us, were just trying to hold on to what we have at #2. it's 92-86 LA so it looks like they'll be 3 Games back.

We're rooting for LA because Houston is only 2 games back. I don't see a late run at number 1. It's going to take a HUGE downslide by the Lakers for us to catch them. After Utah's loss tonight, we're climbing.

Final

Spurs fans rejoice in a victory for the...Lakers? Yes..most Spurs fans were cheering for the Los Angeles Lakers to pull off a win against the Houston Rockets tonight to drop Houston a bit, and, just like Atlanta earlier in the night, the Lakers helped out the cause. With Kobe scoring 36 points and 6 assists and Pao Gasol scoring 20 points and pulling down 5 rebounds, the Lakers were able to hold off the Rockets in the 4th quarter after being behind for most of the game. Von Wafer finished the game with 20 points and 3 rebounds while Yao Ming scored 16 points and pulled down 6 rebounds. Luis Scola also scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. The Lakers will now drive up the highway to San Antonio to face the Spurs tomorrow night in the AT&T Center.

Dallas 54
Portland 44
End of 1st Half

Dallas had a great first half against the Blazers, taking a double digit lead, 54-44, against the Portland Trailblazers in the Rose Garden. As an 8th seed, Dallas is trying to make sure they stay ahead of the rest of the Western Conference and keep a playoff spot. Dirk Nowitzki finished the first half with 17 points and 5 rebounds while Jason Terry scored 15 points and pulled down 3 rebounds. On the other side, the Longhorn's own LaMarcus Aldridge scored 12 points and pulled down 9 rebounds while Brandon Roy scored 12 and added 4 assists. Portland is going to have to have another night like Monday in the second half if they plan on taking this game away from the Mavericks.

Portland 67

Portland outscored Dallas 23-20 in the third to pull the game to within 7 points, 74 to 67 after 3. Spurs fans are hoping for Dallas to finish this game off with a W to drop Portland down a bit, giving them a larger cushion on an off night before a huge game against the Lakers. Dirk Nowitzki finished the quarter with 21 points and 8 rebounds while Jason Terry scored 18 pounds and added 3 assists. On the Portland side, LaMarcus Aldridge scored 21 points and added 10 rebounds while Brandon Roy added 20 points and dished off 4 dimes. Final

Another great game tonight leads to a win by the Mavericks. The Spurs fans are excited tonight about yet another loss given to a team that was right behind them. They have been given a larger cushion in their division on an off night. Dirk Nowitzki finished the game with 29 points and 9 rebounds while Jason Terry was right behind him with 23 points and 5 rebounds. In a losing effort, LaMarcus Aldridge put up a double double with 23 points and 11 rebounds while Brandon Roy finished with 22 points and 6 assists. Not sure if Hill is big enough to guard Kobe...we'll have to see.

No, Hill isn't big enough but, his length and quickness could be an asset in the 4th qtr. if Bowen has worked Kobe hard. Hill comes in fresh and just kind of gets in Kobe's way so as to frustrate him enough to where Kobe misses a couple of key shots. On the other hand Pop may not want to expose Hill to someone like Kobe until he is more seasoned...possibly at key points in the playoffs.

I forgot all about N.O. winning tonight. At least we gained on Houston, Portland and Utah.

Have a good one...the wife is about to club me if I don't get off the computer. Should be a good game tomorrow.

o well i was right about the jazz, mavs, and denver to pull for that 3rd seed so we can play them in the 2nd round
