sleep walking in the first quarter will likely not result in a win against playoff caliber teams. don't understand why this team couldn't get up for the lakers from the onset.

Yeah, it wasn't a horrible effort at least, but this has been happening a lot recently: Cavs, Blazers(?) or someone else, and now the Lakers. They can't dig themselves these huge holes.

It's pretty much irrelevant when you give away the game in the first.

our Defense in the 1st quarter has been terrible ALL SEASON. we need to get our head out of our ass early.

Our starting lineup is not good defensively.

Pop needs to make change quick.

I don't think it was that bad. Lakers scored only 2 pts in the paint in the 1st quarter. They were just hot on all those Js

our player seem nervous against the lakers since last year's WCF . i hope thats not a mental injury.

Yeah...that was pretty pathetic. If the game is close after one we probably would have won.

Spurs seem like they don't care. They just want the playoffs to start. Maybe Pop is telling them to tank the 1st on purpose and then see what they are made of to climb their way back into a game.

CIA Pop maybe???

Our 1st quarter lineup is mainly guys who aren't the best defenders- Bonner, Finley, Mason, and Parker are not exactly on the floor for their defensive skills.

Inserting Gooden might help that at least with an extra lithe body in the paint. Parker needs to come to play on the defensive side every night. I mean this is quite literally his team now. He needs to take that responsibility on both ends of the court and not sleep walk through an entire quarter.

Wow..the first official douchebag post game statement. If you have any knowledge whatsoever, you know that the Spurs didn't give two shits about this game...get real, noob.

actually, our D wasn't even that bad..we only allowed about 2 or 3 open shots..Ariza made 2 of them from mid-range, and he's an inconsistent shooter..

they made mostly contested Js..

This game made me realize that the Spurs and Lakers are pretty much even.

Spurs need to make some tweeks rotation wise and defensively and they pretty much can beat the Lakers pretty convincingly.

Poor decision by Pops to start Bonner. Even we knew Odom would kill him, boards were all Lakers early.

I will throw out the Cavs game. It was only Tony and no Tim or Manu.

The Cavs are too good defensively to have Tony beat them by himself.

Yeah, .4, Manu's foul on Dirk, and last year's WCF were all Pop being CIA Pop as well. :rolleyes

Pop is the first to admit he doesn't have all the answers - I trust him to work and see if he can somehow make the the team better from this point and do his damdest to do so, but he's not about to just toss a game into the lakers hands. They came out smokin, and our team paid for it.

I have to admit, Lakers play better today and they are playing back to back last night against no 3 seed Houston. They play without Bynum and that is the sign that they are the best in West. As much as I dont like Odom this is a fact, a bitter one. I love Spurs but realistically Lakers is better team than Spurs....Spurs will definitely LOST 100% guaranteed if they continue play like this. We got to admit that Lakers is a better team. Hopefully Manu will bring more offensive power and Gooden will contribute scoring and defense play in playoffs. We still got hope from Manu and Gooden, coz Finley is unlikely to get many night like this. Otherwise Spurs goin fishin for sure!!!

Pops lineup for the Playoffs needs to be:

PG- TP
SG- Mason
SF- Bowen
PF- TD
C- Thomas

This line-up is a good mix of both Offense and Defense.

It's also a bad time having free thow woes by missing 8. We coud've won even with the 1st qtr suckitude.

No excuses. We sucked tonight. If you are in to finding Silver Linings in losses, than I'll give the Spurs props for not giving up. However, Tony and Tim were God awful and so was Bonner. If not for Finley, we would have been trounced even worse.

The Lakers are beatable but we need to start giving Kobe the proper attention he deserves. That means having Bruce play D on him. The experiment is over. There is a direct correlation between our poor defense and Bruce's lack of minutes.

On a side note, Tim is more hobbled than I thought. If this is the best he can do going forward, we are in serious trouble. He was slow, out of sync and really struggling. He makes no excuses and I give him credit for trying but the sooner he can rest before the playoffs, the better.
