View Full Version : If the Lakers are so dominant, why Laker fan trash talk?

Is it because the Spurs ended the Lakers three peat, or we've won 3 championships since the Lakers won their last seven years ago?

If the Lakers are so dominant and can beat us, I'm wondering why the need for so much trash talk from Laker fans? Clearly we aren't a franchise that you're worried about, right? Beat us in 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2008, right?

Here's the reason Spurs fans don't trash talk: The Lakers haven't won a championship in seven years, and aren't the defending champs, and haven't proven anything to anybody...yet Laker fans feel the need to make everything personal against the Spurs fans.

Just wondering, nothing personal against the Lakers and their fans, and no trash talking here, I'm just wondering why they trash talk.

They talk trash because Spurs fans egg them on. I understand they sometimes are just obnoxious but most of the time, at least in the NBA forum from what I read, they are responding to Spurs fans talking shit.

Pretty much. I don't really talk shit to anyone though. Unless that person is a queef nugget, and all fan bases agree.

No I'm just saying, 99% of all trash talk on SpursTalk is a waste of time. The majority of the time, teams will just go out and earn their pay and beat who they're supposed to beat. In other cases, some teams will get hot from the field early, as in the Lakers last night, and steal the win...no big deal and certainly no reason to trash talk. If the Lakers are so successful, then that's even more reason for their fans to keep quiet without trash talking. I guess seven years will do that to you. Spurs fans have never had to wait seven years between championships, so that is why most never trash talk. I guess I understand now. I can't imagine not having won a championship in seven years, and failing in two Finals since....just saying I understand now, not trash talking back.

My assessment of it all: Pop was just experimenting, Drew Gooden got as many rebounds as Kobe got in 38 minutes, in only 3 minutes of play. The Spurs are still putting their WCF pieces together.

What are the Lakers going to do about Gooden's 12/10 type of numbers?

That's something they haven't had to answer to yet...

What a bunch of hogwash. How long have you been a Spurs fan? Must be not that long if you didn't have to wait 7 years. I did not look but before Duncan, how many championships did the Spurs win and when was the last time it happened pre-TD?

Count 2 including this year because the Spurs won win this year. I'll bet on it. They are not getting younger, time has passed them by. Maybe you won't need to wait for 7 years... that's because you won't even last that long. You'll be long gone by then.
