They have a chance to join Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig as the only teammates to hit 300, hit 40 HRs and have 100 RBIs in one season. This has not happened in over 70 yrs, this would be unbelievable. Ortiz needs to hit above his .298 average the rest of the season to get back to 300 where he was until this last series.

dont give the Cardinal haters like Iceman and Spurm and others the facts King,

that would piss them off and make them want to critisize those numbers, or want to dig up numbers changing that.

Well, maybe when he said "this has not happened in over 70 years," he actually meant "this has not happened in almost three weeks."

Sorry, heard it again on ESPN, not 100 RBIs, it is 125+ RBIs.

If David Ortiz can just hike his batting average from .297 to .300, he and Manny Ramirez would become the first set of .300-40 HR-100 RBI American League teammates since two guys named Ruth and Gehrig in 1931.


I believe that is what jim is talking about
