Should be a good one. Two of my favorite players on both teams. Wade vs Johnson should be one of the best first round match ups.

It was clutch because that shot broke the spirits of the Celts in that game. Didn't you watch that game?

I didn't. But your definition of clutch is pretty fucked up if it doesn't involve making a basket with the game on the line.

Please go watch the game, that was the best anyone has EVER played against the Celtics defense. Kobe never had a performance like that vs the Celtics.

And FYI he hit several more shots in the last minutes of that game, but it was really that shot over Powe that crushed the celtics imo.

Kobe basically won game 3 by himself in the 4th. So not really.

I think its becuase that was the shot the put him on the map. First playoff game as a rookie and he hits a big shot with 1.3 remaining.

You don't know the traveling rule. If your dribble is still considered active, you can take as many steps as you want. He has a 2-count after he stops his dribble. He doesn't stop his dribble until he puts his left hand on the ball, and after that he only takes 1 more step. He clearly stays within the traveling rule.

what the heck? so your saying he took an extra step after his 2 steps. Thats traveling.

His dribble was still active during those first 2 steps. Under the traveling rule, those steps mean nothing. All that matters is what he does after he's gathered the ball to stop his dribble. He takes one step after he ends his dribble.

The last time he dribbles isn't where you count the steps. There was still a point in those two steps where he could have legally dribbled again if he wanted to. When he gathers the ball, he gets a 2-count and he uses that properly. It's close, but he doesn't travel.

monosylab1k
03-17-2009, 03:47 AM
Now, if you want to slap him with a palming call, that's another story.

You aren't seeing where he stops his dribble, you are seeing it from the last time he actually dribbles. The two aren't the same.

That's the only call against LeBron on that play that can be argued for.

Allanon
03-17-2009, 06:37 AM
That was 3 steps under strict travelling rules. You can have a bunny hop but that was a hop and a step which was illegal.

But refs don't really call that a travel these days so it's a no-call. Lebron did palm the ball if you want to go by the books, but that's not called much either.

That wasn't 3 steps under any rule at all. You people have no fucking clue what traveling is.

If your dribble is still considered active, it doesn't matter how many steps you're taking.

You can't go from the last time he actually dribbles the ball, you go from the time where he kills his dribble with his left hand. Technically before that he could still dribble the ball if he wanted, meaning his dribble is still active. You can't travel with an active dribble.

If what LeBron did is traveling, then any hesistation moves at all are illegal.

i think i got what your saying..he can still dribble...(unless he palms it tho, then it would be carrying)....but if he were to dribble normally he can actually still put the ball down. The two steps start after the final step of when the ball gets carried.

yes i think :lol and LeBron carries the ball big time, but if he's getting away with that, then technically the rest of what he's doing isn't traveling.

He wasn't talking about Wade's hop step, he was talking about earlier after Wade went between the legs and it looks like he takes about 3-4 steps between dribbles. Which is perfectly legal because you can't travel with an active dribble.
