Wow. Always thinking, Timmy wouldn't criticize the call afterwards when asked about it. That team was so decisive, and it's scary how good Timmy was when he could jump. If he can get this tendonosis thing under control, he should be able to play at his current level for ten more years.

dang, wish I was a spurs fan back then...

Tim had 36-15, wonder if we'll see that again?

Damn, this brought back some memories. That was one hell of a game.

I still chuckle at the ref throwing out Robinson because he inadvertently touched the refs hand while only a second before it you see Brian Grant hug the ref on that clip. :lol

Do any of you remember if Robinson was fined for this?

Please stop showing these clips of early Tim! So disheartening to compare what he was to what he is.

Even an over-the-hill/downside Tim is still one of the best now.

That was a rediculous ejection... If David had WANTED to hit the ref, he WOULD have HIT him...
Props to the Trailblazers though... After the Spurs won the finals that year, they put an ad in the SA Express congratulating the Spurs on thier win

Yeah, David was pretty mad in that game ...

But that was nothing compared to a game against Utah I think in 96 or 97. He got called for a phantom foul late in the game, got T'd up, and then ran over to the ref by the scorers' table, grabbed him by the shoulder, spun him around, stuck his big index finger right in the ref's face, and berated him for like a minute. David didn't even get thrown out.

Anyone else remember that one?

Great game. You hardly ever saw D-Rob get that pissed, and that was one of the FEW times, but deserved. That ref was a jackass, and the Spurs rallied around D-Rob and won that game for him. CLASSIC GAME indeed.

back in his first few years, when he could jump and move quicker, tim was Completely unstoppable. on offense and defense. i mean on an 'olajuwon in '95' level. one of the best 2-3 players ive ever seen

I remember this game! David Robinson was the kind of guy that had so much respect that if he ever DID explode like that, you knew he had a good reason.

This is a link for Duncan's first playoff series. Against the suns in 1998. It was after watching this game that I knew Tim would take us to several titles.

God how I remember that game! When David went out, the team just took it to the Blazers. I remember telling everyone in the room that David _never_ gets technicals, much less thrown out of a game. Good times.
