View Full Version : James White has to get more playing time

In the Rockets win 107-88 over twolves, White scored 5 points in about 2:00 minutes, and would have been more if it weren't for a fucked up alley oop pass. However, rox still miss landry, but I think Rockets have found a diamond in the rough. If he develops his dribble some more, he will be a star.
Dude sure as hell is better than Gerald Green, but I'll take my proven mini star Wafer over White anyday, Wafer is just so electric. He puts up like 12 points in qrtr

Adelman should have put him in earlier. Like around the 7:30 mark. The game was already out of hand by then. I could tell that James White was trying to get a big dunk.

Wafer has proven himself as a legitimate basketball player (surprisingly). White needs to show he can play before anything is going to happen. I wouldn't go into 'superstar' territory with him...
I would still rather see Gerald Green get minutes before White.

I was at the game and sitting off to the side behind the basket in the 5th row. Yes White is impressive but the entire time I wanted to see Deke. WTF, put Deke in with 7-8 minutes to go. What are you trying to prove Adleman? We got like a 20 pt lead?????

We love rooting for the underdogs. People want to see little known players make it to the NBA and succeed. In regards to James White, I think his ability to dunk better than anyone in the world (arguably) makes the supporting all the more intense.

Just because dallas doesn't know talent if it hit em' in the face shouldn't make you so insecure. Even though Mark Cuban had the chance to trade for kobe a couple of years back:depressed

Tim,
How did he do in San Antonio, was there a reason he was let go? Pop usually likes to have young athletic guys coming up to push the veterans.
Why didn't you guys keep him?
Thanks in advance.

are you kidding? Pop is notorious for benching younger athletic players regardless of their potential in favor of his trusted dinosaurs. i understand wanting to have steady, dependable high iq guys out there, but at some point energy and athleticism MUST be infused into the team.
this is why we dropped JW and POPSMB, and why we are sitting Hairston. personally i think its a mistake but im not coaching the team

Sometimes I wonder if Pop's decisions are that deliberate. With the way the Spurs are rapidly decending, in terms of age, athleticism and health, you'd think Pop would want 1 or 2 skilled guys on the bench to help matchup against teams that have an over-abundance of quickness and athleticism. However, that doesn't seem to be his MO.
Personally, I believe roster balance is a good thing. Pop, like most coaches, tends to sell his soul to vets who end up playing 1 or 2 years past their shelf life.

My memory is a little rusty but IIRC, he was let go after a real disappointing summer league showing where he showed, unfortunately, that his hops and overall athleticism was all he had. He couldn't hit a jumper to save himself.
But that was two years ago, and it looks like he's improved greatly in his time in the D-League. I hope that he, even on the Rockets, bounces back up and to the all star level he's capable of. I like the guy.

I don't understand what the fuck you mean by these shitty words, maybe i shouldn't have ever even tried to understand the words written by a shit who is precisely as odious as the mothafukincountry he used to live in. Mark Cuban is an idiot and so are Donnie and Carlisle as well, but none of those three idiots is a shitty person that doesn't have any dignity to deserve a little bit respect from others.
