Was it me...or did Finleys 2 missed freethrows along with Parkers missed 4 freethrows seem extremely suspect...I mean you got two %80+ freethrows shooters out there...and they both miss...badly...it almost looked like they were trying to either throw the game...or keep the score down...or do they want to lose the number 2 spot...yes...I know...it could be an elaborate conspiracy...maybe they owed some money...cue X-Files music...

Makes no sense, the number 2 and 3 spots avoid the Lakers until the WC finals, the only difference is in Homecourt...and you would think the Spurs would want that.

That kind of shit just happens sometimes. Steve Blake missed 4 consecutive free throws at the end of a game against Orlando earlier in the season and it cost us the game. The misses by Parker probably seemed worse since it came so late in the season in the fight for playoff positioning.

I don't mind.

Wouldn't you want to play the Lakers in the 2nd round rather than using all your energy to take out another WC team in the 2nd round? Face it, the Hornets series took everything the team had last year. If that was the Lakers in that round maybe the Spurs would've won it in . It doesn't matter at that point who was in the WCF because the Spurs level of play was above every other team. (Not saying it would be a cake walk, but they would've been favored). I don't mind being the 4th seed this year. Still have HCA over the 5th seed AND we play the Lakers earlier. If we can't beat them with fresher legs then it would be no way we could beat them in the WCF.

Just sayin

I was at the game last night. These guys, especially Timmy, wanted this game. Truth is, they had a bad 4 minutes at the end of this game. They could have put it away with the free throws, but weren't able to pull it off. It was incredibly depressing. Puts more pressure on us on Sunday. Everyone won last night in the West except us. If we start losing games on purpose, we'll end up out of the playoffs.

No way, even in the remote possibility that they want a lower seed, they would give away the very last games of the regular season. Right now, not even a playoff spot is guaranteed, it would be to risky.

Besides, Pop is not out of his mind.

If the Spurs were healthy and in rhythm, I'd actually be in favor of the Spurs playing the Lakers as early as possible. Avoiding the Lakers until the conference finals, if you're healthy and playing good ball now, makes no sense. Wouldn't you want to take a crack at them when you're still somewhat fresh and the Lakers aren't playing with, or at least a fully integrated, Bynum?

Avoiding them until the conference finals, when they're most likely to be hitting their stride? Seems pretty counterintuitive, if you ask me.

Oh, and yeah... The Spurs were soooo trying to lose on purpose.:lmao

Well...I had to invent some sort of conspiracy theory to help me sleep better at night...it was either that or concede that my team actually just choked... :(

in fact that might now be such a bad idea lol...fall to 8th so we can just get the lakers first and be done with it, no point in waiting till we are ass tired out by the 3rd round to face them. might as well get it over with. i always preferred to eat my vegetables first then move on to the tasty stuff

It doesn't matter what seed or who they play, they will be out in the first round!
