NBA power rankings: March 22, 2009 (http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/spurs/NBA_power_rankings_March_22_2009.html)
Mike Monroe

TOP 10

(Last rank in parentheses)

1. Cavaliers (2): Guess who’d have home-court advantage in potential Finals series vs. Lakers? And they’re 23-4 vs. West.

2. Lakers (1): Jackson whines that his guys lack killer instinct. Says Kobe: “He’s using that to motivate us.”

3. Celtics (3): Garnett’s back, and just in time. They need him to hold off Magic in race for No. 2 in East.

4. Magic (8): Dwight Howard’s next role? In a movie. DH to Orlando Sentinel: “I’m a good actor.”

5. Nuggets (13): Back on winning track, now Karl’s on a new campaign, whining that ’Melo gets “smacked” too often.

6. Rockets (7): Three-game win streak featured Yao as crunch time go-to guy, at Adelman’s insistence.

7. SPURS (6): Be surprised if Ginobili doesn’t return for cameo in Friday’s home game vs. Clippers.

8. Hornets (4): B. Scott to MVP voters: Don’t forget CP3 because he’s carrying Hornets even more this season than last.

9. Jazz (5): Sloan tossed 132 seconds into loss at Orlando, quickest ejection in the other 1,872 games he’d coached.

10. Hawks (11): Seven-game win streak includes four against Western playoff teams.

The Nuggets winning streak is composed of 5 sub 0.500 teams, 4 of the wins were at home, and they get a +8 jump. Alas, the lord works in misterious ways indeed.

The lord or Mike Monroe?

Anyhow, can't really complain with those rankings. They are accurate enough.

Nuggets streak is fool's gold. They had just lost 3 or 4 straight a couple wks ago, now everyones on their jock on wins over teams that are below .500.

Not that I care about power rankings, but if you ask him who would win a 7 game series between the Spurs vs. Rockets/Nuggets, I think there's no doubt.

I find it odd that Denver leapfrogs Atlanta with 5 wins over sub .500 teams.....

1. "Guess who’d have home-court advantage in potential Finals series vs. Lakers?"
LMAO, you gotta love the delicious irony of cleveland sports. The Cavs will most likely finish 40-1 at home (not including potential playoff wins), only to face the one team that beat them at the Q. It's setting up for more Cleveland heartbreak
