Yeah, I don't know where this notion of this being a huge game because it's for the SW Division comes from. Spurs would have to lose another and the Rockets have to keep winning.

As of today, we're still one loss less than the Rockets....

The Spurs, at least momentarily, also have the tiebreaker by being 1 game ahead of Houston in division record. Still, this was a bad loss. A win today would have given the Spurs the tiebreaker outright.

I'm the optimistic Spurs fan. Spurs have 13 games left, Houston has 10. Houston has a HELL of a lot tougher schedule left. Wouldn't be surprised if we were back in the 2 seed by the middle of next week, after they play in Utah. Our next 3 games are against Golden State, Atlanta, and the Clippers. Three games we SHOULD win. Houston plays Utah on Tuesday in Utah. Wouldn't be surprised to see Utah pull that one out. And then, they don't play until Saturday. If we win like we should, even IF Houston wins, we'll get back the 2 seed. We play 3 games in the same time that they play 1. We get those, we're back on top. No worries everyone...

Unless Manu comes back at close to 100% this circle jerk is all academic.

Strange to say, but I'm getting a very good feeling about this season.

The Spurs are playing fairly well but not winning. Like a golfer hitting well but scoring bad.

Historically, that has meant that the Spurs are about to explode forward.

It's building up now, like a volcano -- Mount Spur, we could call it.:flag:

Thats the attitude we all need to have. Don't fret over a couple of regular season close calls. We need to keep our eyes on the prize. . .

I don't care where we end up. But as of today we are leading the SW Division. As far as the playoffs are concerned, you guys can play the Jazz. We don't want them three times in a row. P

Thats why margin of victory is important and is a sign of how strong a team really is.

People were happy with the spurs squeaking out close wins against non playoff teams early in the season after manu and Parker were back but it was an indicator that the spurs were not as good as their record.

again, look at the rockets schedule. it is extremely rough and only a few games separate them from the #8 seeded mavs. they're going to play at utah, los angeles, phoenix, and dallas, plus have to face new orleans, portland, and orlando which are teams that can play on the road. i'm not extremely worried about the spurs locking up the #2 seed.

I'm not so concerned about the Rockets, it's the rest of the pack that is ready to swallow up the Spurs. If the Spurs were a third seed against the #2Rockets, not such a big deal.

If the Spurs dropped to the 5th seed and played (say) the Hornets, then the Lakers in the next round, not so good.
