Who here has a yearly physical or examination performed on themselves on a regular basis?

I'm 44 so I need to get my ass examined and have a physical this year.
I've tried asking my wife for a hand when performing my self examination. Testicular cancer is no laughing matter.

I'm pushing the wife to go get a pap and breast examination done.

Just wondering if anybody watches their health or only go to the doctor when they are on their death beds.

Yeah, I go...when I had an active pilot license and was riding in AF aircraft, I was required to get a physical every year. Including the *snap*...*shudder*...glove test.

My current employer has a pretty good health plan and checkups are encouraged...so I go every year now as well.

Unfortunately it still includes the *snap*...*shudder*...glove test...

I think many don't go to the doctor because they are scared of what they'll be told. But I think that is a big mistake.
Today an early diagnosis of many cancers and diseases can be the difference between life and death.

Go once a year, every year, started that back when I hit 30. I figure if something is wrong, better to know than to not know and have an even bigger health problem to deal with.

respect the 'fro :fro

Preventive medicine is a good thing, that's why I use tough actin' Tinactin.

Joe, how old is your wife? Because now they don't do mammograms until you're 40 (they used start doing them at 35). She doesn't look old enough for one, although Duff may disagree...

I go every year for the womanly stuff. I had a complete physical about 3 years ago.

When I went to have the *snap*...*shudder*...glove test.....

The Doc put one hand on me left shoulder...and then I braced for it....but something odd happened. His other hand came over my right shoulder then I felt the insertion.

Is that normal?

The insurance didn't cover it for some reason. :oops

A sigmoidoscopy makes the "finger in the ass" seem like a walk in the park.

Gynaecological exams are definitely not something to skimp on every year, even if you are only with one faithful partner. Breast examinations are really important, as are all female checkups - uterine and ovarian cancer can be really devastating if not caught early on, and a lot of women don't go in to get those things checked until they have a problem. Not to make anyone paranoid by any means, but it's just something to consider.
