It's frustrating to think about the dumb games our guys lost this year. Thunder w/o Durant/Green, Spurs w/o Duncan/Ginobili, fucking Clippers, fucking Kings.

Take those away and our guys would be in much better shape.

But I suppose our guys should consider themselves lucky for being 16-3 in close games. We have an expected win loss of 39-31.

And it seems like this was one of the few years where that would be the case. How often is the West gonna be a jumble of teams failing to crack 55 wins? (except for the Lakers).

Everyone in the West actually regressed this year as far as margin of victory except for the Lakers and Blazers.

GO GUYS IN BLUE.

You've got the Spurs going 9-4 with a final record of 54-28 which matches. However, your win/loss predictions have the Spurs going 10-3. Where's the fourth L?

Dallas has a tough schedule down the stretch. Phoenix has potential losses at portland, at utah, at new orleans and home to houston.

If Suns went 12-0 down stretch they'd have tiebreaker over Dallas and be 7th :lol

I know - I was too lazy to make a real and accurate prediction. I mean, 12-0 would mean they'd have gone 17-0 cumulatively... but Obama promised change and inspired hope, so YES WE CAN!!!

You must hate the Blazers cuz they have the better record but get a 6 seed instead of 5. :lol

Ok, ok - to answer everyone's opinion of my final standings, I merely copied scribb43's standings and added the Suns with an (almost) impossible record of 51-31

I've already called David Stern and left a message and said it should be the following (if standings remain as they are today):

1. Cleveland
2. Lakers
3. Boston
4. Orlando
5. Spurs
6. Houston
7. Denver
8. New Orleans
9. Utah
10. Portland
11. Dallas
12. Atlanta
13. Phoenix
14. Miami
15. Philly
16. Detroit

Awesome first round matchups would be:
Cle vs. Det - LeBron v. city of Detroit again
Philly vs. LA
Boston vs. Miami
Orlando vs. Phoenix - New Superman v. Old Superman
Spurs vs. Atlanta
Dallas vs. Houston - City rivalry spilled onto the court
Denver vs. Portland - Battle for NW Division supremacy
NO vs. Utah - CP3 v. D-Will

I think I would come in my pants if those were the first round matchups.

16 team seeding? That would be sweet.

But it's never gonna happen cuz all the shitty Leastern teams would get knocked out in the first round. Hawks aren't shitty but they'd get a tough matchup in the Spurs.

Only Cavs/Celts/Magic would make it out of the first round.

RonMexico
03-25-2009, 05:07 PM
Yeah, but half the east teams will be knocked out in the first round of traditional format anyway, and Cavs/Celts/Magic are going to be the only teams that deserve to get out of the first round so wouldn't you rather see a Cle vs. NO/Utah 2nd round? Or maybe they pull an NFL and re-seed for 2nd round, so you get an upstart 11-seed Dallas knocking off Houston and then facing LeBron?

Stern could make more money out of this anyway because any of the east-west travel games will have to be 2-3-2 format which gives the lower-seeded teams a better "cinderella" opportunity and is better than a drawn-out Atlanta-Miami 3-week long, 7-game borefest and people would actually tune into the first round games of their non-favorite teams rather than waiting impatiently for them all to end.

I asked the genius known as John Hollinger during his chat today the following ?

James (SLC, Utah): What do you think the Jazz record will be against these .500+ teams games left on their road schedule? @POR, @DEN, @NO, @DAL, @SAS, @LAL...

John Hollinger: (3:42 PM ET ) How about 0-6? Jazz have yet to win on the road against any of the league's top 12 teams.... OK, realistically, they'll probably break through at least once, but it's hard to be optimistic given their track record.
