View Full Version : Whats a BS extra fee you know of

The Airlines charges for each bag you check in now. We all know that was a BS way to get more money. The first one I can think of that really pissed me off was set years ago. The car path fee.

I bought a golf cart years ago. I lived across the street from a golf course and about 2 miles from another one. I thought I could save 10 bucks a pop using my own cart. I played twice a week. I guess alot of people had the same idea. Within the year they changed. They said you were not renting a golf cart from them but the path. If you used their cart or brought ur own the cost is the same. Anyone know of any other bs fees?

All the service/handling/convenience charges that TicketBastard continually rapes people with time and time again.
Shit, by the time you get done paying those, you could practically pay for another goddamn ticket!

I wouldn't buy a computer from a box store anyways, but I think it's pretty damn ghey that they load em up with adware, etc and then charge you an extra 50 bucks to get a clean OS re-install. And even then, they're not clean.

And in Utah, until literally just days ago, every single bar was technically considered a "private club" that you legally had to buy a membership to if you wanted in.

Ticketmaster fees and parking fees for concerts assessed to the tickets themselves. Like having to pay $4 for parking when you buy the ticket, so if you walk to the show, or ride with a friend you are still paying for parking. All Live Nation venues are doing this now

TicketMaster fees

Fees on your water bill (it's always something like - Water Usage - $12.87. Total Due: $67.43)

Some airlines are charging for pillows now haha

One time I wanted to return something and get a refund. The company said there was a FORTY percent re-stocking fee. F' that. I sold it on ebay.

Oh and one time I went to a sex club in Las Vegas. Women got in free. But the cover charge was $100 for men.

And another time LJ and I went to a party in Los Angeles (the year the All-Star Game was there). We went to a private party of Dennis Rodman's at a club. I got in free but they wanted to charge $250 for LJ to get in. :lmao Anyway, I refused and they let him in free too.

We did pay $80 to park though :lmao

I hate it when you go to a bar and they charge you like 2 bucks to get in- like it's almost an insult, you are saying this bar is happening enough to charge people to get in, but we are only charging $2 because it's not that cool. Like they could possibly make $200 on a good night- big deal. Why even charge people, or if you are make it like $10 or $20 so people feel obligated to stay

speaking of that, the delivery fee is a BS fee.

when I worked at Dominos way back as a driver, the franchise owner went from free delivery to charging $1.50 per order..........the drivers got an extra 10 cents per run, from $1.10 to $1.20.......

the only thing i really hate has got to be the extra charge at the oasis bar on bitters/west ave. if you go there make sure you pay with money and not a card! $2.50 pint(something like that) with cash but $3.50 pint with card. fuckin' bs!

oh and that bs $25 fee cc companies charge ya if you try to buy something and your card is rejected.

no I'm just talking when there is no band or anything- they do it at late night Chicago bars all the time. Most of the bars there close at 2, but some are open until later, and they charge you $2-$3 to get in and raise their prices. It's like, hey assholes I'm coming here and buying your overpriced shit with other delinquents why are you wasting your time collecting $2 from me. Plus, those bars are nothing but bad news because fights break out like every 5 minutes because it's a major sausage fest all prying on a couple women- easy women though if your into that sort of thing

mx is crazy like that though... i especially can't stand all the street hoods who think they can try and charge ya for helping you out of a parking spot on the side of the road. some hoods tried that shit to my buddy david out in acapulco but david just told the kid to get the fuck out of his way or he was gonna run him over, which he almost did. david is from acapulco btw.

It's crazy in Chicago, the good bars are open until 2 and the shady bars are open late- seems like it should be the other way around. They are bars you would never go to unless they were open late. They also have one liquor store that is like the size of a grocery store that is open until 4am and they raise their prices like 25% on everything after 2am. A case of beer Old Style is like $30. It's robbery, but there is a line just to get into the place on a Friday or Saturday in the summer

Nickel and diming in school is a joke. I remember getting $25 "Instructional Enhancement Fees" for each class for fucking websites that half my professors posted absolutely nothing on, and the other half just posted the syllabus on.

So... about them sexclubs....

There's some unmarked club on the street that run parallel to the strip (the side toward the Rio, not the side toward the convention center).

It's BYOB, there's a big dance floor and a DJ. Then there's a bunch of siderooms. There's a live sex room with a gigantic mattress in the middle and chairs all around it to watch :lmao And there's a bunch of other weirdness going on in the other rooms (trans, S&M, etc). I went there with a guy friend of mine back before I got married. We found it because my friend was in the middle of a divorce, and wanting to go wild. We got in a cab and he told the driver - take us to somewhere totally sleazy :lol We personally didn't do anything there but drink, dance and get propositioned by a lot of girls.

Drachen

In Germany the public toilets are "pay toilets" too, but they are self cleaning (and damn good at it too) so it is worth it. One of my greatest stories from over there is that my host brother and his girlfriend started to feel frisky while we were all out in the park, went into the pay toilet to indulge themselves, but they took too long and the toilets are programmed to start cleaning themselves after a long period of inactivity. They both just about fell out pretty much naked in a cloud of spray cleaner.

The $7 "system access fee" on cell phone bills in Canada.

Their explanation is "to help us maintain our infrastructure" or some shit.

Now the selling point of small cell phone companies is "NO SYSTEM ACCESS FEE"

At one time I had 3 lines with Cricket--paying the starting rate of $37 a month. Then, they lowered the starting rate to $35 a month. I went into one of their stores and asked if I could just switch and get the $35 a month plan for all 3 lines, since that's what the new going rate was. The girl was like "Sure, no problem!" Imagine my pissiness when I got the bill the following month--they charged me $10 PER LINE to go in and change my rate. Um, :flipoff how 'bout no? When I called to bitch they told me it was a "maintenance fee" since someone had to go in and manually change our accounts--I told them to maintain "this" and went to Pocket. Asstards.

Honestly, I don't like that fee, but I really don't mind it. I am saving a shitton of money being with cricket, and if I had to pay $30 to save $6 a month, I would have my money back in 5 months and still be far better off than I would be with one of the majors. Obviously you took another route and went with pocket, but I can't seem to get past their tiny call area, and their lack of reception

I agree. Cricket >>>>>>>> Pocket. Pocket pretty much sucks. So, I've just gone with AT&T GoPhone which works everywhere. I'm not in a position where I need to be glued to my cell phone anymore, so it works for me. But yeah, if I needed a plan, I'd swallow my pride and head back to Cricket. They can't be beat when you are staying local. I never had any service issues with them--it's just that $30 in fees pissed me off. I mean, I watched the girl do it--it took all of 6 seconds per account. :lol

I completed a Master's degree completely online through the distance education program of a university.

Every single semester I had to pay the following:

$48 computer usage fee (I am at home and not even there to use their computers)
$75 Fitness and Recreation Fee (like I use it)
$11.00 ID Fee (have never gotten one)
$79.00 Student Services fee (like I use any services there)

Then they charge me a $134.00 Distance Education Fee!!

Yeah, like I said, it sucks, but they have to make their money somewhere. I pretty much stay local, but when I go to austin, they are a cricket market, so no problem. When I went to Port A, I used to just pay an extra $15 that month so that I would have the 200 roaming minutes, and that solved that problem. Well they are now a Cricket market (as long as you have a triband phone), so I don't even have to do that anymore. I have been lucky too, most of the places my fiance or I have flown on business have been cricket markets too. Only place that wasn't was Milwaukee last year. Overall, I am pretty happy with them and have kept them for 3 years now.
