What do you guys use for organizing all your shit on your computer? I had been using Musicmatch but something got on my laptop and I lost everything so I'm starting over. Anyone use a DJ program or music editing software they like?

iTunes is such a ridiculous resource hog, I longed for the svelte elegance of Windows Media Player.

i just point iTunes towards my music folder, but don't use it to organize my music. i have the same music/mp3 folder i've had for 10 years - just move it from drive to drive.

Every time music comes up, there are those people that have to say iTunes iTunes iTunes.
How does iTunes organize your music.
The way I do it is.
My Music > Arist > Artist - Year - Album Title

iTunes is garbage. No, that's not an opinion.
There are plenty of good music players out there, but I use foobar2000. I also use Mp3tag for, well, tagging (Actions are very useful). As far as organizing my files, I just manage my folders/files manually, and let foobar2000 update its library.

Windows Media Player.
I can't stand using iTunes. I don't like the interface, and it takes forever to start up.

i think it defaults to general sorting by artist, then albums under artists as subfolders. i don't like how it handles compilations and/or soundtracks though.
