Five cracks on my windshield, a busted taillight, and too many fucking dents to count...all twenty minutes before I was supposed to leave work. All I could do was sit there and watch it decimate cars in the parking lot.

You'll forgive me if I'm less than ecstatic.

Driving into work today (Technology/McNeil/183) was like a war zone. At least half of the cars in our parking lot are just battered... glass is all over our parking lots, etc. News was saying costliest hail storm in Austin history. The sizes of the hail stones are just amazing... coworker saved some that are a good size larger than baseball/tennis balls.

Thanks. I'm mostly over it now. It should all be covered by insurance, just have to deal with that hassle. I'm not the only one though.

Here is a picture of another car that was in our parking lot. Mine wasn't quite this bad.

That's crazy. The one time I saw hail, it was the size of a rain drop.

Yea, my windshield got blown out in Round Rock just sitting in the driveway. Didn't see it coming at all.

Have any of you guys ever been outside during hail? Can it seriously fuck you up?

I'd just like some dime sized hail to come and destroy my roof. My car is already all pocked full of hail dents (Thanks Zapata County), so I dont really care about that.

We had quarter-sized crap for 15-20 minutes here between Brushy Creek & Avery Ranch in north Austin. You bet I called USAA as soon as we didn't have to worry about a window busting out.

And God only knows what the cars looks like, we'll see in the AM. My deductibles are sky high so looks like I'm about to be out several thousand dollars I don't have.

Wow! I could see all the lightning storms to the north of me. Glad it didn't come my way.

I thought we were going to get some last night, but it missed us. It was very hot yesterday afternoon and when the storm came across East Texas in the evening it hit the warm air and just exploded. There were several tornado reports throughout the area.

I've seen golf ball size hail only once. I was on my covered front porch watching the storm when the sky suddenly starting looking weird. Suddenly a big ass piece of ice landed in my front yard in front of me...and another..and another. 15 seconds later it was coming down in sheets. I looked at the side of the house and it was piling up in the corner. I started to get a little freaked out so I went inside. The windows on my car somehow survived but pretty much the whole thing had to be repainted and the hood had to be replaced.

Eight years ago I was in HEB when a huge hail storm hit SA. I came out and both my windshields were shattered. So mad, I had to miss the Wolves (and you know who) in town for the play-offs so I could get my car driveable.

Was at work so I missed round 2 of the hail. I did see lightning strike a rooftop or a transformer when I was driving home during the storm. Big flash then an explosion with sparks. Cool stuff.

Apparently a tornado was seen but it didn't touch the ground in Austin.

The cars are a dimpled mess, especially my father-in-law's brand new Camry. Even so we were luckier than some who have broken out windows, fences down, and garage doors that look like someone took a ball-peen hammer to them.

Yeh, my car took a couple dings but I braved the crazy dart in the hail to get it moved under one of the reserved car ports. Managed to avoid most of the damage. It's kind of at that point where I don't know if it will be cheaper to deal with the insurance or just have it fixed myself.

I just got done dealing with those chumps over the LAST hailstorm. :pctoss

Yeah, there's a big nasty cell an hour or two W of Austin again. Looks like it may go south of the metro this time.

stearing is non existant on those storms - they're not going to go towards Austin or San Antonio.
