Take a low-volume, British-manufactured Ultima GTR, stuff it with a 7.1-liter, twin-turbocharged aluminum-block Chevy V-8 that produces 1600 bhp and delivers that massive oomph through a custom-made 3-speed paddle-shifted transmission, and spend over 1000 hours in research and development to make sure that both chassis and drivetrain play nice together, and you've got yourself a Maxximus G-Force.

The pet project of businessman/philanthropist David McMahan and car builder Marlon Kirby (the two met when the former was being driven to his private jet at the airport by the latter, working as a chauffer for a limo company), the Maxximus posts some impressive numbers: According to an organization called the World Records Academy, the Maxximus is the world's fastest street-legal car, sprinting from 0-60 mph in 2.1 seconds, 100 mph in 4.5 seconds, and going from 0-100-0 mph in 8.9 seconds.

The interior was designed by an "aircraft interior specialist." The amenities we've come to expect in our everyday cars are present (sound system, air conditioning, leather), but the overall look and quality levels are what you'd expect from the typical low-volume boutique manufacturer — decent, but a far cry from any volume manufacturer.

Built to order, pricing for the 45-state street-legal (according to the company) Maxximus can vary, but expect to pay something in the "several million dollar range," says a spokesperson. The car you see here — the world-record-setting machine — is said to be already spoken for. The buyer? Yup, you guessed it — someone in the Middle East.

I couldn't fit in that thing, so I will not read about it, or its features.

why do people buy cars with 9384756 HP when every road here in the US has speed limits.
