Watching this sweet 16 game with Purdue and UCONN. Hasheem Thabeet is ridiculous. It's like a human fly swatter out there. This kid is NBA ready. He alters shots, he commands the paint, everytime someone tries to score he's there.

And now we know that Chad Ford posts on this message board as a Houston Rockets fan.

He can block a few college guards, awesome! However he couldn't score on a college guard in the post.

not really, his post defense is still pretty rough. he gets in foul trouble in a hurry when he goes up against guys like Monroe and Blair.

he'll block some shots, but ultimately, NBA teams will exploit his overplays and lack of discipline.

not to say that he won't be a good player, but he's not ready on EITHER end of the floor.

I agree. He's not ready. But ESPN or CBS would never let you know that.

Agree, but that said, not sure another year of college would do much for him. He just doesn't go up against future NBA bigs often enough to get the experience where he would improve.

He can move a lot better than Hibbert. He's just gonna be a real good defender and rebounder in the NBA. Tyson Chandler 2.0.

outside of their size, not a great comparison. thabeet is a much better athlete, hibbert was much more polished.

Dude, the guy is so agile that he plays indoor soccer in his free time.
He is a perfect near blanc canvas for an NBA big man legend to work with ala Olajuwon or Russell.

But Kemba Walker is DA man guiding the Huskies to the Final Four tonight!
Very impressive from the freshman.

I've only watched him three times and I'd agree he's not ready. But there's plenty of NBA players who are prospects. He'll give somebody a few good defensive minutes and fouls. And the kid's going to be pretty damn legit someday.

:rollin Nice.

Look for the Lakers to get him, and he'll work with Kareem like that little fuckwhit Bynum and get really really really good so that he'll command a max deal by year 3.
Everyone knows how Bynum is getting so so good underKareem's tutelage.

I dont think hes that good. No touch or real moves around the basket, nor is he that athletic or explosive - and he can get abused on the block by the better post players, even guys 6 inches shorter than him.

Hes OK, but i wouldnt take him in the Top 10. Some idiot GM will though, and wait 3 years for him to become a 8 rebound 2 block guy.

UCONN is gonna roll through the final 4. Nobody has the inside presence of Thabeet.
