A footnote, Pop said he'd like to sit Duncan a game in each of the remaining back-to-backs. If he doesn't sit him I'd expect limited minutes in one of each. Unless Duncan can win the argument.

Tue, Apr 7 @ Oklahoma City
Wed, Apr 8 Portland

Sun, Apr 12 @ Sacramento
Mon, Apr 13 @ Golden State

Good point duncan228, If I had my choice....rest him against OKC, and play him against Portland. Rest him against Sacramento, and play him against Golden State.

I don't care about the record. As long as the Spurs are playing well and healthy, they have a chance against anyone in any order. If they aren't doing one of the two, they're just prolonging the inevitable.

well, i really don't care being 2nd, 3rd or fourth, or even worse. it's about the same.

2nd, 3rd or 4th:

we'll have the HCA in the first round.
we won't have it against LA (2nd round or WCF) and for the finals.

so basically, being 2nd, 3rd or 4th doesn't change many things. Meeting LA in the 2nd round or in the WCF is the same since we probably will have to beat them to go to the finals and that for the spurs only the title matters.
being eliminated in 2nd round or in WCF is the same for us.

5th, 6th, 7th:

well, we don't have the HCA for the first round. we could have it for the 2round though, considering teams from 2nd to 7th are so closed and many "upset" are possible. not big deal.

8th:

well, no HCA. but i would prefer to avoid LA in the first round in order to let Tim and Manu, and the whole team, be in full PO mode against a "weaker" team.

so, basically, let's say that we stay at least 4th, we're in good position. 5th to 7th, well, no big deal. 8th, not the best thing to face LA in the 1st round, but since we got to beat them anyway....

just for fun, some predictions:
SA 7-2
Nuggets 6-2
Rockets 6-2
Blazers 7-2
Jazz 5-5 (win in NO)
Hornets 5-5
Mavs 7-2

Why'd TP have to call out OKC during that video piece. He was saying how he was ready for the playoffs to start already, and how it was hard to care when they played lower teams like.. OKC..

For certain they will be extra motivated to beat the Spurs.. .again!

The more I think about it, the more I realize there's no easy out for the Spurs in the first round.

Perhaps the Nuggets because of past success?

HCA seems to be the only edge this year.
