I'm a music addict and I know there's a lot of international posters in this forum. So my request is for you to post vids (or at least names so I can look for myself) of non-English speaking bands or musicians. Please try to post some quality stuff, don't come here with the French version of the Backstreetboys. With nothing more to add I'll thank you very much for helping me with this and I'll post some Spanish-speaking bands that I think are cool for some other music-freak like me.

Soda Stereo (this band has a lot of great songs, look it up, specially the live versions): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpiY999wHTM&feature=PlayList&p=F0E8825179E7947E&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=2

I'm generally not a fan of german Pop (the last song I really liked was Nena's 99 luftballons - I know I was very young then).

But I do like this song form the group Silbermond. Love her voice.

Soda Stereo is one of my favorite bands.

Have you heard the song Claroscuro?
I love that song.

You also need to hear Tea Para 3.

I'm too lazy to find videos but anything by Reik or Julieta Venegas is top notch.

Fettes Brot - 1st Album is gold - hip hop

Fantastischen Vier - Vier Gewinnt is a great album - hip hop

Die Toten Hosen - if you are leaning towards punk

BTW I am not a big fan of hip hop in general, but the first two bands are great! Also German is a great language for hip hop as well as rock.

It looks like most of the recommendations are pop music, I guess that is what you are interested in? I love World Music, have accumulated a large collection, and would like to recommend the work of my favorite musician, Mulatu Astatke. It's Ethiopian jazz and now has quite a following because of some movie soundtracks he contributed to. Here's the MySpace for a sample.

She is.

She doesn't even cook anymore.

I miss her tamales.

Off Topic, but a great freakin band is Mingo Fishtrap, they are from Texas and play jazz/soul/funk. They are great to see in person, but their music is great nonetheless.

They are starting a semi-regular gig on Mondays at Antone's if you want to catch an early show. Be sure to tell their sound guy he's a dick.

Oh I forgot - when you want non-english music search youtube for the Eurovision Songcontest - lot's of non-english music although many are just shit. But there are very funny songs.

mY1AnCJsxDk
Ukrainian Tranny - bashed for the song because Russians complained it sounds like Russia Goodbye.

pZ8xTD-Nr_o
Austrian comedian - I think 6th place back in 2003 - was banned by the main Austrian TV Station the next year for the following song.

Jgi-RriOSFY

Just browse youtube for Eurovision - you'll find lots of funny and bad non-english music.
