Free agent linebacker Cato June (6-0, 227) is visiting with the Texans today, according to reports by multiple Houston media outlets. The story was first reported by Mark Berman of Houston's FOX 26 News.

Per team policy, the Texans do not officially announce free agent visits, and all transactions, such as trades and free agent signings, are not official until they are announced by the team.

June, 29, spent the past two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His first four years in the league were with the Indianapolis Colts, who drafted June in the sixth round out of Michigan in 2003.

June played in all 16 games for the Bucs last season, starting 14, and recorded 67 tackles and an interception. He was the Colts' leading tackler in 2004 and again in 2006, when he had a career-high 142 tackles. June, who has started at least 13 games in five consecutive seasons, played strongside linebacker with the Bucs and weakside linebacker with the Colts. He has 12 career interceptions.

The Texans currently have six linebackers on their roster: DeMeco Ryans, Xavier Adibi, Zac Diles, Kevin Bentley, Chaun Thompson and Kevis Coley. Houston previously brought in Dallas Cowboys free agent linebacker Kevin Burnett for a visit on March 5. He signed with the San Diego Chargers five days later.

I hope this happens, it will help with Adibi getting injured and it will push him to work harder. A little OLB depth will be nice as well.
