Okay I'm New to the S-Talk.

So with all the boo-hooing and downess...lets rate the Worst Spurs ever.

soooooooooooooooo.

1. is................................................ ...........
Sydney Green :bang

...traded for Brick!!!

I was so pissed when this happend, Frank Brickowski was our intmidator.
Our 1989-90 Team was set, Brown and as usual, Bob Bas *&#@ up!.
We already had veteran leadership with Terry Cummings, Brick had been in the NBA 2 seasons already.

Sydney ended up with bone "Spurs", and delt off the following season. :hang

Charles Smith (the PF, not "spider")- guy was the supposed to be the low post complement to Robinson's FT jumper when we traded with New York to get him, but injuries and just plain failure to live up to expectations caused him to be a huge BUST for the silver & black.

Negele Knight, Lloyd Daniels, JR Reid, Tom Copa. Oh, and Moses Malone was a shell of his old self when he was a Spur.

+1 We didn't get that compliment for D-Rob until we drafted Tim.

Frank Brickowski was traded for Paul Pressy.

Sidney Green I believe was signed as a free agent.

Who was then traded to Charlotte for JR Reid.

Alot of these names were scrubs to begin with. So the mere fact that they didn't perform as Spurs came as no surprise.

For instance -- Uwe Blab. No expectations, no performance, nothing to be disappointed about. Same goes for Charles Smith, Negele Knight, and Jack Haley.

Now ... as for Spurs from whom we got little return for our dollar, there is Carl Herrera (never was the same after his injury), Sidney Green, Damon Stoudamire, Nick van Exel, and Ron Mercer.

Alfredrick Hughes and the guy from Oregon who was a big time college scorer. He was a high draft pick and we traded for him and found our his jumper was about 3 in. off the floor.

My two least favorites all time are Steve Smith and Samaki Walker.

1) Smith threatened to hold-out if Pop didn't give him an extension after the DA trade. Pop must have been laughing his ass off, until Smith got him back by being a lazy fucking worthless no-hustle bitch in the 2002 series with LA.

2) Walker is stupidest son of a bitch to ever put on a Spurs uniform. Right after he left, that cocksucker got on LA sportstalk radio and called David Robinson soft. Look in the mirror, you fucktard.

Paul Pressey was pretty lame as a player. I hated watching him play as a Spur lol. And the one sorry ass white guy we always had at the end of the bench for us years back. It was almost like they were passing off the torch. That shit so got on my nerves. Dwayne Schintzius was part of that and I don't remember who else off the top of my head.

Sweet Pea wasn't so sweet after all...

Doesn't belong here - he was great in the 2007 Finals, and has been a fine locker room tutor and all-around good guy.

Corey Alexander

Such a disappointment.

The Spurs drafted terribly for most of the '90s.

Halfway through the 89-90 season we ended up trading him to the Knicks for Rod Strickland.

Aside from Manu and TP, has anything changed since the 90's?????? TD doesn't count either, that wasn't a "draft decision".

You must be thinking of Charles "Spider" Smith the SG/SF.

I was talking about the Charles Smith that played for the Knicks from 1992-96that's famous for missing like 4 straight put-backs at the rim vs the Bulls in the Playoffs at the end of the game. He was the Knicks (a playoff team) starting SF for a few years (because Oakley played PF), then was traded to the Spurs for J.R Reid and Brad Lohaus and played for them from 96 to 97.
http://hoopedia.nba.com/images/3/32/Smith_240_spurs.jpg

The guy averaged 21pts and 7 reb for the Clippers. Then 12pts and 5 reb at SF for the Knicks back when they had Starks, Oakley, Ewing, Anthony Mason, Derek Harper, and Doc Rivers and made it to the Finals vs Houston.

Hardly a scrub...

He became a scrub in San Antonio though (averaged 4pts and 3 rebs on 40% shooting as a PF his last year) and never played again after the Spurs said goodbye to him after the injury plagued 96-97 season...
Conveniently right after we drafted Tim Duncan. I'd say it was a nice "upgrade" at PF!

No, I was indeed referring to Charles Smith, acquired from the Knicks with Monty Williams for Brad Lohaus and J.R. Reid. I am aware that he was at one time a very good player. But by the time he got traded to the Spurs, his knees were shot and he was washed up. I didn't expect much from him
