He played four years with Charlotte and made two all-star teams. Not sure he's good enough to have anyone retire his jersey other than the Rebs.
He never played for the Bobcats.

So he made 2 All-Star teams with the Hornets, BFD.
Here's some trivia: which former Spur played in 5, count 'em 5 All-Star games as a Spurs player, yet his number is not retired?
Travesty it is, considering who else we got hanging from our rafters...

bobcats shouldn't be on the list cuz that's a brand new franchise. lj never played for that franchise. he did play for the hornets franchise though, so hornets for sure

What exactly did LJ do for the Hornets? They never won a championship, he was the first pick in the draft and only went to two all-star games, both as a reserve, and he didn't get along with Alonzo Mourning, forcing the team to split them up. He was much more effective and successful as a Knick, as both a winner and as a teammate.

Kenon actually played in 3 All-Star games as a Spur. My mistake again, 3, not 4. :blah
In total, Kenon played in 5 all star games in his career:
2 with the ABA NY Nets
1 with ABA SA Spurs
2 with NBA SA Spurs

That's an awfully low bar for jersey retirement. Didn't Mason get one of those for the Spurs this year? Make some room...

The Hornets, even though I don't really know who Larry Johnson is.

Larry's 4-point play propelled them to their first finals appearance since 94' (their second since the 70s). Mason's 4-point play was regular season and already forgotten. Sure, Larry had the bulk of his stats with Charlotte (not to mention an NBA Jam appearance w/ Zo), but he was clutch in the playoffs in all those Heat-Knick matchups, as well as that Pacer series. His impact was greater on the Knicks.

I grew up in NC watching the Hornets play when I was kid. To be fair it wasn't all LJ's fault that ZO got traded. ZO was a grade A asshole back in the day. He didn't get along with anybody except Mugsy Bogues on the Hornets. Most of his teamates hated him and loved LJ because LJ was much more of a people person. I don't think LJ merrits blame for ZO getting traded.

Okay, that's fair. I'll give you that one. Even without that black mark, it's still not really a stint worthy of jersey retirement, especially for a #1 pick.
