LOS ANGELES - Andrew Bynum worked out for about 45 minutes before Friday night's game, an event that drew a horde of curious reporters and fans eager to get a firsthand look at how the injured center is progressing.
Sweat poured from Bynum's brow after assistant coaches Kurt Rambis and Brian Shaw had him shooting jumpers, running pick and pops and doing post moves that required him to plant off his injured right knee. He moved well despite a bulky knee brace that he said he'll continue to wear the rest of the season.
"It's just a precaution," Bynum said. "It doesn't allow you to run properly, but it will protect the knee when I go side to side."
