You try teaching D to Nash and Amare..

Porter was the wrong coach for them, even Kerr himself admits it. To me it looks like trading away all their defensive players go rid of what little d they had and didn't leave gentry with much to work with.

You try teaching D to Nash and Amare..

takes more then half a season
that is why trading those two
would help in the long term to win a title

Trading amare would have only made sense back when they could get kg or dhow for him. I don't think they can get fair value for him now.

Even with nash and amare years back, they were always a few plays away from hitting it big. Maybe it's a huger gap than I thought, but their no D of a few years back was much better than under Porter and Gentry.

Nobody would of taken Nash for any big value and as pauls said the amare trade should of been done for KG.

Wow 81???...the Suns need to get a whole different roster next year and start playing defense next year. In that I mean get rid of all the non defensive players. They are in a really deep whole.

I think things would go like this.

"You know who Mike D'antoni is?"
"Yes."
"Leave the room. No barbosa, you can stay..."

I shall not be trolled.

Everyone and their mother knows that Porter was a bad fit for the Suns. Ducks, in his wormy brain, believes this is a "I-told-you-so" moment and is capitalizing on the Suns' misfortune.

Kerr is a genius!

I think Spurs caught wind that the suns figured out they needed to play D, so they told steve to make sure to trade away all their defensive players and use driving Dantoni out of town as a smoke screen.

Firing Porter wasn't the problem. It was all the stupid trades and cheap ownership that fucked them over.

the suns did pretty good at defense in the game vs. our boys in blue, but still not able to avoid being dropped 140 pts on by the league's best team.
