Injuries obviously will play a big part in whether or not there will be upsets.

Honestly, I'd have to say the Dallas Mavericks.

They're the only team in the west who's bigs don't suck ass to match up with the Lakers.
Nene > gasol

When has 'Melo' ever played well in the playoffs? He's a one trick pony.
Billups has choked like a madman in every playoffs since 2005, J.R. Smith is completely undependable, and Martin's a joke. Nene's got to be dominant for them to have a shot.

Lakers bench.... If they really put their minds to it and continue this trend of giving up double digit leads.... they could easily upset the Lakers.

Only if we can move up and avoid the Lakers.

i dont know if denver counts if they are a 2nd seed. other than that in the west nothing. in the east is where you have to try and look for teams

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing...does Denver count as a 'darkhorse', if they are the 2nd seed?
Anyhow, Denver is going to be a tough team to deal with, regardless of who they face. They're on a hot streak at just the right time, seem to be fairly healthy,
and they have a good, battle-tested point guard who can hit big shots, can make his free throws, and doesn't turn the ball over.
In the eastern conference, I don't want anything to do with facing Orlando.

7 darkhorses?

There's no such a thing as dark horses in the NBA. Relative to other sports, the NBA is the most predictable sport due to a lack of luck in the sport, especially neutralized by best of 7. If you take a look at the champions since the lock out year (Spurs 3x, Lakers 3x, Celtics, Mavs, Pistons), they average 60 wins and an average margin of victory of +7.0. The only team in the West that fits that bill is the Lakers.
Which ever team reaches the Western Conference Finals should consider it a good year.
LOL everyone is gonna vote for thier own team.

Sorry I just can't help it. I get irritated with conspiracies. I know I'm new and that this is the way you've probably been for awhile but I can't help it. So I had to switch the Mavz with the team that the sports almanacs will have forever as 05-06 champions.

I'll go with Denver since they're pretty high in the standings, but no one takes them seriously. Probably for a good reason, but they have the talent and the coach to do some damage.

the Nuggets have the talent, then they got that idiot George Karl who doesn't know how to sub his players late in the game or change tactics. Denver always fades late.

It's definitely the Blazers. The only team capable of beating the Lakers.

I actually agree with you, especially if you guys stay in the 4/5 series. You're gonna give the Lake Show a big time scare in the 2nd round.

Nobody should count them out- even without Manu.

Yeah, this isn't the east we're talkin about. The west is actually good.
The Nuggets.
I don't care who the fuck coaches them. When you have Chauncey Billups on your team it changes everything. They are the only team that can take the lakers out

Lol, nice try sucka. The Champs this year are coming out of the East. It'll rather be Cleveland or Boston. Or maybe Orlando if they get lucky. If you actually think with the way the west has sucked this year they're winning the championship I dont know what to say to you.
And btw, 7 teams?

So you can't name any other good teams besides Cleveland, Boston, or Orlando??? The playoff teams in the west will end up with 50+ wins. So, I really don't understand how you can say the West sucked with all the injuries they had

Personally, I expected more from the West this year but maybe it was all the injuries that limited western teams. But anyway, in my opinion it doesn't matter if all the playoff teams in the West win 50+ games because at the end I still think an Eastern team will be the ones holding up the trophy at the end of the Nba Finals. And that's all that matters : Championship. Not How many games you win.

I don't care who wins, just as long as it isn't the Lakers
the west has faced a lot of injuries this year Red Hawk. Manu, Tmac, Amare, Al Jefferson, Andrew Bynum, J-Howard, Tyson Chandler, the list goes on...
Red Hawk #21

Yea, I shouldn't have said the West sucked. I'll take that back, they don't suck. However, I think an Eastern team will win the championship.

Jazz... They are finally healthy, and have one of the better coaches in the league. It'll be scary if they manage to win on the road
