Phil Jackson wasn't at the Lakers' loss Friday at Portland, but that didn't prevent him from admonishing the Trail Blazers a day later.

The Lakers' coach wasn't happy to hear that the Trail Blazers showed video of Trevor Ariza's infamous flagrant foul on the scoreboard screen a few minutes before the teams tipped off at the Rose Garden.

"That's something that NBA clubs are not supposed to do, show video before a game that incites crowds," Jackson said Saturday. "Portland took a big risk doing that and that's a fineable thing from the league. That's something that they try to prevent in the spirit of good sportsmanship, but Portland has been like that. They've created that situation, and I think Trevor was affected by it, unfortunately. I don't think he had the kind of game I like to see him have."

What an effing putz!

I don't expect any better from POR and frankly I don't care.

Eliminating their pathetic teams the last 5 times they've made the playoffs is all the satisfaction one could ask for. Let them have the regular season victories.

Nothing new here, this is what Phil does. Some people chalk it up to some vague notion about cerebral mindgames. I call it faggotry, but still, it's just Phil doing what he ALWAYS does.

the Lakers are the most classless organization in the NBA, it's not even debatable..it's just funny that they are so hypocritical too..if Ariza is affected by this, as Jackson says, then the Lakers have no chance at winning shit with mentally weak players like that on the team..so it's obviously bullshit..

Phil Jackson is one of the biggest complainers in sports history..he also lacks class, which is evident if you read his book..he implied that Kobe is a rapist..

Ariza is a dirty player..Bynum almost killed somebody with a dirty play earlier in the season..Kobe is an alleged rapist, he's thrown teammates under the bus for no reason, he snitched on Shaq for no reason, and we just recently found out about how he and his wife treat his maid..

Magic Johnson is an adulterer with HIV..

they have by far the most insecure and annoying fans in sports..

I think it was unnecessary by the Portland franchise to do this. Seriously, what the fuck did they try to accomplish there? All they were doing was trying to vilify Ariza and rile up the crowd. Ariza paid his dues and got a flagrant 2 for the foul (which I still think should have been a flagrant 1).

Just another incident of jackson being the biggest whiner in the league. He is also the biggest hypocrite. In his book he says he likes to avoid the media, but then addressess everything that bothers him to the media. Its just like when he said kobe wont win mvp again since media only cares about Lebron. He's just a average coach who has been carried by superstars.

I mean I guess you could say he's a whiney bitch for saying this but the reported did ask him what he thought of it, and it is not allowed to be done so if you're the coach you have to stick up for your players and say that is was BS of Portland to do it. It really isn't that big of a deal, Portland will get fined for this though, there is no way they don't, it's not allowed and they did it.
