feel bad for the kings fans that was a late shot....Kings need to have a red light on their backboard like most teams...

That sucks but at least the Spurs don't have to play OT, not that they deserved the automatic win.

Amuseddaysleeper
04-12-2009, 10:33 PM
What's weird is that upon the replays, you can see that the shot clock lights on the backboard never went off.

That's probably what got the call to go the Spurs way in real time.

Kind of a weak way to win a game, but the Spurs have gotten screwed by numerous non-calls over the years, just like every team. Especially with the way the rule controls use of video replay. It's not like this is the first time a ref didn't catch a shot clock violation.

Either way, it's a W that's in the bo0ks, so all the non-Spur fans can have fun whining about it.

J.T.
04-12-2009, 10:35 PM
Funny that Mavfan starts this thread when their series win over the Spurs was giftwrapped to them by no calls on Manu and Duncan's final shots at the buzzer in regulation. If anything Diop and Dampier tried to cut off Duncan's head on his putback at the buzzer which should have been shots with the clock at 0.0 and the game tied.

Fuck you.

what a shitty rule that the officials can't review that stuff

The Spurs lost probably at LEAST a full second at the end of the HOU game. Same thing, clock runoff after the foul not reviewable, since it wasn't the end of the Q.

Exactly Marhill. Ridiculous posters blaming the Spurs for a rule that the NBA has on the books. As if it's our fault and/or our call. Even if this game was a play-off or Championship game, the refs would have to follow the rule, and they would not be able to review the call. So all these fans that are complaining, can call the NBA office and bitch to them. Lol at bitter fans who go to any length to discredit a Spurs win.:lol

Lastly, these same posters have no idea that we lost a game exactly like this one several weeks ago. Since the refs could not review that shot, we lost that game. We just happened to be the lucky ones tonight. Not our fault.

I'm looking at it from the perspective of the players who obviously played their asses off to win the game. correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember a game against either the Kings or Rockets 1-2 years ago in which the score was tied and someone from the kings made a 3-pointer and the refs ruled it illegal only to reiterate and give the kings the w.

do the lights on the backboard goes off for 24 sec shot clock violations or for end of quarters? i thought it was just for end of quarters.

That is why I asked-- some shot clocks have lights around them (not the backboard) but Arco does not have these IIRC because they are a relatively new device.

Kings play their heart out and get robbed by the fucking whistles. What a shame.:downspin::downspin::downspin:
Yeah well go back to 2006 Manu did'nt even touch dick nitwitski on the 3-point play. Besides without Finley's 3 it's tied and we win in OT so big shit.

Never knew a blown call that costs a team it's 64th loss of the season could generate 5 pages so far of "discussion".

Maybe for some people it is, like rockets and blazers fans, It probably isn't as much about the Kings. IMO, I really don't care. It doesnt hurt the Lakers in the standings. So it's all good now! I was :lmao at the commentator, "shot it tony!" and he passed. That's all.
