What's the over/under for the number of games until Cecil Cooper gets fired?

In my opinion, no one is untouchable. Blow it up and start over. And you can't trade everyone but your best players. The rest of that team is a steaming heap of dogshit that nobody in their right mind would want.

true to an extent, but you have to remember that Berkman, Lee, and Oswalt all have FULL no trade clauses in their contracts. Lee can only be traded after his 4th season in the deal which he is only in his 3rd ....

Berkman and Oswalt aren't going anywhere and will finish their careers in an Astros uniform. you can bet on that..... Pence is the only "young" talent worth holding on to.

the Chokestros? in order to be considered chokers, dont you have to be good or actually have leads.....how can you choke when you are always down by 5+ runs game in and game out.

I prefer to call my team the Lastros or Disastros

I agree... calling the Astros chokers would be like calling people from Louisiana underachievers.

Yeah. I didn't forget about Lee's no-trade clause. However, a few more weeks like this and he'll be begging out. He's really the only thing the Astros have besides Pence to get young prospects. Maybe Valverde.

Berkman and Oswalt have to be traded. This team has no farm system. Come May or June they'll be happy to go to a team that's worth a crap.

Definitely disturbing given the amount invested in the roster.

neither of them can be traded. both have full no trade clauses ... the only way that would happen is if they wanted out.

I dont know about Oswalt....but I say trade Berkman, Tejada, and Lee....I dont want to get rid of Berkman, but we need to accumulate some young talent.....we need young pitchers and positions players. We need to revamp our farm system. Of course, if also trading Oswalt helps us get some quality prospects....then let's do it.

I think we can get about 3-4 quality prospects for Berkman.....3-4 for Oswalt....1-2 for Tejada....and 2-3 for Lee. So we would trade 4 players for 11-13 prospects.....hopefully 6-7 of those being pitchers.

we can't just trade Berkman and Lee though ... they have to ask to be let go since the have full no trade clauses.

Motherfucker. At least the Reds should be worth 3 wins out of a 4 game home series. Shit, 3 of 4 in Cincinnati. And why is it that the stros' best prospects (oxymoron, I know) consist of 17 different catchers (including Clemens' kid)?

It'd be one thing if ownership was just flat out cheap. Just watch, they'll get dick back when they deal Valverde later this season.

No shit. They fucked up the Brad Lidge trade, although I was happy to see him go but Michael Bourne hasn't done shit. I don't care who they get rid of as long as they keep Berkman and Pence.

The farm club is also very, very poor at the moment. Bogusevic, Chris Johnson and Jason Castro are really the only prospects that might be decent Major League players but other than that they are shit. Just pure shit.

Great game tonight. I was almost sure that Hawkins was going to blow that save.

Berkman's game tying HR was a bomb. Hopefully they can sweep.

had Cooper left in Paulino the other day for at least one more inning, I think we dont choke away that game to the Reds....we would be 7-8 instead of 6-9

Our starters have been pretty solid to my suprise. If our offense can play it up early on it will give our starters more room to stay in there longer and not give the ball to fucking Byrdak or Geary. I cringe when they come in. I like Sampson playing mid relief and it will help us out a lot when Brocail comes back and puts Hawkins back in the 6th or 7th inning. That beings said our record would be TONS better with at least 3 or 4 of our last few losses being given away by the bullpen. Glad to see Berkman coming around (FINALLY). He started off slow but yeah that HR he hit was a BOMB. Pence has been our best bat, maybe they should bat him after Lance.

What is with Berkman and the slow starts?

my guess is laziness in the off season and not keeping in baseball shape ... he shows up to spring training fatter and fatter every year.
