I think this deserves a bump. I saw an interview with her this morning on Fox News. This woman is just so down-to-earth, but she has a cheekiness about her that is refreshing. She said that all the people who were mean to her in the past are now being very nice! But the best part of the video was the look on Simon's face!!

This video now has over 14 million hits! I think we're going to be seeing and HEARING a lot more from Susan Boyle. Just goes to show - you can't judge a book by its cover! You go girl!!!!!

(CNN) -- Television and YouTube singing sensation Susan Boyle has promised to be on her best behavior if she wins the right to sing for the queen.

The 47-year-old Boyle, who says she has never been kissed, was catapulted into the spotlight after her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Miserables," on the television show "Britain's Got Talent" at the weekend.

The winner of the show gets to sing for the queen at the Royal Variety Show.

Boyle has a long way to go though -- having just won through to the second round after judge Simon Cowell described her first performance as "extraordinary."

Still, she was already thinking of how she would behave.

"Whatever comes my way, I am ready. It would be lovely to sing for the queen. There would be less of the carry on from me, and more of the singing.

"She is a very regal lady, very nice, so I would be nice too, and just get up there and give it a bit of wellie (try)," Boyle told the show's Web site.

Boyle said she was trying to take her new found fame in her stride.

"It's a challenge. Life is a challenge sometimes but this is different. And I like to test myself.

"If it all gets too much and they lock me up, I want a great big strait-jacket with spots on it. A pink one... and a big zip on the back so I can escape."
Don't Miss

A clip of Boyle's performance had more than 11 million views on YouTube by Thursday, and the world's media have beaten a path to her door in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland.Video Watch Boyle's singing wow the world »

Cowell is reportedly already trying to piece together a record deal for Boyle, an unemployed charity worker, who lives with her cat, Pebbles.

For fans of Boyle, who attracted laughs and s######s when she first appeared on stage before winning a standing ovation, the album cannot come quick enough.

CNN has been inundated with hundreds of messages of support for Boyle.

Simone said: "I've been so depressed all day but hearing this woman sing and reading her story gave me a pick-me-up... I look forward to hearing more of her and I hope to buy her CD as soon as it hits the shelves."

Cynthia wanted Cowell to move quickly.

"She brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. I hope Simon does get her a record contract...I'll buy her CD. Never judge a book by it's cover. Susan Boyle, you go, girl!"

Jim described Boyle's talent as "unbelievable" and "beautiful."

"I wish Susan the very best in her new life and hopefully someone has put her under contract. Thank you for such a beautiful song."

Larry wanted to offer Boyle a kiss.

"I have just heard you sing for the first time -- thanks to CNN -- and I must tell you this: You are a fabulous talent, simply amazing to me that no one took advantage of your voice and passion up until now. I am a happily married man, but if I were not, and if I was in the audience, I can guarantee you that I would ask for a kiss, and if you were gracious enough to indulge me, well that would have been one of the great highlights of my life. Looking forward to the first of many albums."

I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high,
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.

Then I was young and unafraid
When dreams were made and used,
And wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung,
No wine untasted.

But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hopes apart
As they turn your dreams to shame.

And still I dream he'll come to me
And we will live our lives together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms
We cannot weather...

I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seems
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.

THE Daily Record has uncovered the only CD ever made by Scotland’s singing sensation Susan Boyle... But the Record can reveal she made her first recording back in 1999, when she sang blues ballad Cry Me A River for a charity CD.

Only 1000 copies of the disc were ever produced, but we’ve got hold of the long-forgotten recording and it’s now on our site. A showbiz insider said: “This is a real coup for the Record. The whole world would have wanted to find this.

I highly doubt it. Even if there was a screening process it doesn't diminish the genuine talent or sentiment among the audience (both studio and internet). Anyways, it's a shame that what you took from that video is that everyone's just a bunch of easily manipulated rubes. Get over yourself.

That was great but can she pull it off in other genres?I haven't listened to it, but the only recording she's ever done is of 'Cry Me a River' which is a Justin Timberlake song IIRC. Unless his was a pop cover or something.

Susan Boyle: Angelic voice or over-hyped?

As you've no doubt noticed by now, "Britain's Got Talent" contestant Susan Boyle has recently taken over the world. She is everywhere, and I'm being told incessantly that I'm to find her an "inspiration," even though that makes no sense. I don't begrudge the woman herself for it, because how was she supposed to know the world was going to go crazy over her? But I do, however, have a huge bone to pick with the media's coverage of this story. Here's why.

Simon Cowell Obviously Knew She Could Sing Beforehand
No way did she make it to the "Britain's Got Talent" stage before passing some kind of screening process, meaning the producers -- including Simon -- knew already that she was going to be able to sing. I don't deny that the shocked reactions were entertaining to watch, but they also seem kinda fake.

If You've Never Been Kissed, It Was Probably By Choice
The part of her story the media seems most moved by is her claim that she is not only a 47-year-old virgin, but that she has also never been kissed. We're supposed to feel really bad about this, but don't we all know some truly unfortunate-looking people who have managed to find somebody to make out with at least once in their lives? She's either lying or it was her choice not to do so. Either way, it's not a reason for someone to be famous.

She's Not That Good
If she were attractive and had the exact same voice, she wouldn't have gotten any attention. There is something so condescending about lavishing huge praise on someone for sounding slightly better than the sad reality TV crazy they appeared to be.

This Has Gone from Harmless Human Interest Story to Horrifying in Record Time
I refrained from talking too much about Susan when her story first broke, other than saying I don't really get the excitement over her, but now the poor woman's been publicly offered everything from makeovers to her own porno, and so I have to say that this is just bringing out the commercializing worst in everyone. Saying someone is an inspiration for not being ashamed of looking the way they do when you think she should be is bad enough, but then insisting they need a makeover so both parties can make a few bucks is contradictory and infuriating. Don't get me started on the disgusting porn offer.

How, Exactly, is She Inspiring?
I'm honestly asking. Is it because she has the strength to go on living despite not being gorgeous? That seems to be what I'm being told day and night. How amazing! I know we all already knew this, but the media really, truly is the worst.

http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/thatsreallyweek/45342/april20-27-fests-lies-and-videotape/

Another TV performance that made the news this week was that of Britain's Got Talent spinster-turned-superstar Susan Boyle, of whom we here at That's Really Week are already sick after the current media overload. (Susan is this week's Octo-Mom.) The dowdy Scottish singer became an unlikely Interweb sensation thanks to a viral video of her allegedly Simon Cowell-shocking reality-television performance. Apparently the idea of a somewhat unattractive person having vocal talent blew many people's minds! But part of the 47-year-old's TV underdog appeal was also her sympathetic back story that she'd "never been kissed."

However, this week Susan admitted that wasn't really true, telling U.K. morning show GMTV: "That was made as a joke! Never been kissed? I've never stopped!"

One of the Britain's Got Talent judges volunteered to give Susan her first liplock before this truth about her lovelife was revealed...and now that the tabloids are reporting she's hired a hunky bodyguard and has undergone a makeover (slick leather jacket, hairdye job to conceal those grays, Burberry scarf, weed-whacked eyebrows), Susan will probably be getting plenty more offers.

She may have finished second, but Susan Boyle continued to make newspaper headlines in the UK Sunday following her shock defeat in the final of "Britain's Got Talent."

"Boyle Backlash" said the headline in the tabloid News of the World, suggesting that the Scottish 48-year-old's alleged "four-letter tantrum" earlier this week had influenced millions of viewers to switch their votes to dance act Diversity.

The buildup to Saturday night's live final had been dominated by reports that Boyle lost her temper in a London hotel and had even considered pulling out of the talent show finale.

The Mail on Sunday said she had been been "comforted by psychiatrists" ahead of Saturday's final.

"They have a whole army of doctors, psychiatrists and experts all available to any contestant at any time. They have all been taking great care of Susan," the paper quoted "Britain's Got Talent" judge Piers Morgan as saying. Watch how Boyle's rise to fame has been an emotional ride »

In Scotland, where crowds had gathered in Boyle's hometown of Blackburn in anticipation of victory, celebration parties were stopped in their tracks as the unexpected result was announced.

"Boyle foiled in final: Susan's dream is over," said the headline in the Sunday Mail.

Earlier, the paper said, Blackburn's community center had been "a sea of hands" as Boyle performed her signature tune, "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical "Les Miserables."

"They stood with tears in their eyes as Susan hit every note. Stamping and chanting her name, her fellow villagers could not have been more proud." Watch the dramatic end to Susan Boyle's dream »

But "the cheers were caught in the collective gullet ... as dance troupe Diversity gatecrashed this most expectant of parties," the Sunday Herald reported. "Jaws were left agape. Tears were shed. And then the supportive chanting of 'SuBo' began again."

Boyle could still be the real winner from the series, which became a global hit after clips of her audition of "I Dreamed a Dream" racked up millions of hits on YouTube. Did Susan deserve to win? Sound Off below

"£6M superstar" said the Sunday Mirror, claiming that "Britain's Got Talent" impresario Simon Cowell plans to take Boyle across the Atlantic to "conquer the U.S."

The News of the World upped Boyle's likely earnings on the back of "Britain's Got Talent" to £8 million ($13 million).

On top of a multi-million dollar record deal and share of album sales, Boyle is also set to earn from a Hollywood movie of her rags-to-riches life, a book deal, and millions more from image rights, endorsements and television appearances, the paper said.

In an interview with the News of the World, Cowell said Boyle could be the biggest star he had ever discovered.

"They don't care in America whether she wins a British TV show -- they care about the woman they saw singing on YouTube," a Cowell insider also told the paper. "If anything, £8 million in her first year might be an underestimate."

I predict we're going to hear less from her than we did that other dude that sung opera. Its a fact of life, people want either beauty or tremendous talent. IMO Boyle has neither. Yeah, her story was appealing and she does have a good voice, but nothing so extraordinary as to merit all the bullshit hype she's been getting. The appeal will runout soon.

Report: Susan Boyle Suffers Emotional Breakdown
Originally posted Sunday May 31, 2009 10:50 PM EDT

Following a crushing defeat on Britain's Got Talent, Susan Boyle was admitted to a private clinic in London Sunday for treatment of exhaustion, according to Britain's Daily Mail.

Police were summoned to Boyle's hotel in the British capital, where the Scottish singing sensation exhibited symptoms of "emotional breakdown" following the show's Saturday finale, the paper reports.

"We were called about 6 p.m. on Sunday to a central London hotel to doctors assessing a woman under the Mental Health Act," a police spokesperson tells the paper.

"Police attended at the request of ambulance personnel and the woman was taken voluntarily to a clinic. No one was arrested and there were no allegations of crime."

A spokeswoman at London's Priory Clinic – where Boyle was reportedly rushed – would not confirm or deny whether the star had been admitted, the paper reports.

Britain's Got Talent producers released the following statement: "Following Saturday night's show, Susan is exhausted and emotionally drained. She has been seen by her private GP who supports her decision to take a few days out for rest and recovery ... We offer her our ongoing support and wish her a speedy recovery."

Stay tuned to PEOPLE.com for more news of Susan Boyle's crisis.
