The funniest is in not this video, but the Power Glove video when he tries using it for this game, lands on the first try, then just backs away slowly without saying anything and a stunned look on his face.

Landing and refueling wasn't quite as hard as he made it out to be. At least not for me. I wasn't 100% successful but I'm pretty sure my success/fail ratio was about 3/1. I passed level 2 once. Never passed level three. I'm pretty sure I broke a controller playing that game.

All in all, the review is accurate. A shitload of fuck.

I actually played that game after watching his review and he is completely right. It is hard as shit, I'm suprised he got past the first stage in a level after I played and realized how difficult it was.

This guy is solid gold, except his review of The Karate Kid was totally off base. That was probably the first video game I ever beat, I was like 8 and beat it before my grandma had finished cooking lunch.

I had to handoff to my friend (who owned the game) to try to land on the carrier or refuel. Even that was a 50/50 crap shoot!

Same here. I didn't remember the landing and fueling being nearly as hard as he said. I immediately went to one of those NES emulator sites and I was found that I could still land at about a 80% clip. But yeah, I could never beat that second level.

What made the landing hard for 10 year-old kids was it would tell you to go up a lot when you also needed to be accelerating. Once you figured out UP! UP! meant increase your attitude and accelerate, landing became easy.

I actually think the best moment in any AVGN video is when he clones himself to play Nightmare on Elmstreet with 4 players. The way all the clones are cursing and at the end where they all add on to the line: "the hell with that shit" is priceless.

It's from the 38 second mark to the 1 minute and 40 second mark. :lmao
